When I think about the problems in my life it is that rent is too high, I get paid too little, and school and health care are overly expensive. I'm not having a lot of problems with men trying to control the weather or implant micro chips in me. You should just move to a new neighborhood. I promise you shit like that is not happening to most people.

I know off just such a place, its an island in The Gambia. And has a"daemon" living on it. Or at least so the people believe. The difference to other daemons, or jujus, is that the one on coconut island hates anybody that claims authority, police, army, tax man, or what not he hates them all and gives their children canser, or makes the boat sink on the way back to mainland, or whatever bad stuff you can imagie
This has resulted in the island being selfegovernd by the four village elders, they only ever has contact to the government if they need money for the school. And the govnment just let them be. The island has five hundred types of birds and half is a nature protection zone so completely un spoiled.

The idea was never vote based on your own best interests but to vote to insure liberty.
The problem is we have voters who think they can vote for their own selfish needs and still have liberty.
But time and again they vote for one statist or another based on what "they can do for me"

I was born in Colombia, have always wanted to go back. From what I understand Bogota is high enough elevation that there aren't really any bugs and shit (mosquitoes) and its pretty beautiful all year round. I wouldn't imagine the govt would fuck with you too much, and it is now a lot safer than it has been in a long time.
New England is too cold, every year I just resent the snow more. I get people like the seasons and whatnot, and it would be strange to not have them, but fuck cold weather.
I thought there was a place in CA or somewhere in the desert where no one really fucks with you? Kinda like that place in Into the Wild where the hippies live? But now its like overrun by meth addicts and shit.

there are some nice islands in the carrib where rastas live pretty free and land in the mountains is cheap in US dollars. their governments are going to be as f-ed as here or worse but you can live a poor life, grow weed and not be stigmatized by society in general. if you want to move somewhere and sell illegal herbs I think all bets are off and the US states are the place to be for that.

there are plenty of US states that have decent MMJ cultivation rules that are livable for a hard smoking family.
Colorado has legal weed and 19 counties where you don't need a building permit. they have MMJ dispensaries and soon legal shops. Personally I'm not nuts about the state but the way I see it it's the freest fuckin' place in the world from a weed standpoint and from the freedom to build and live in whatever you please on your own property. shortly they will have legal stores selling clones to people and that is when this growing thing really changes.
once you can go to a shop and grab 6 legit clean clones of whatever strain you desire, that's cannabis freedom in my book. it will spread 3-1/2 years from now I think. maybe even 2014 elections.

did anyone mention Iceland? the only country in the world that told the bankers to go to court to get their money and not bother the gov with their crap. they recovered inside of 2 years and are doing great. they jailed a few bankers and told the rest to prove their claims in court, all of a sudden it turned out they didnt have to go bankrupt after all. i really love that they ddn't bow to the bankers like the rest of the western world did. they let us all be robbed to save the banks that were reaping massive profits from taking huge risks all along till they lost, when they decided to have the common man pay for their losses instead of taking it them selves. so yeah that day the people were betrayed by those elected to represent them. all over the western world, but not in Iceland.

I'd be moving out of northern minnesota where it gets down to -30F/-45F regularly during our winters, don't think my bones can stand Iceland. The only reason I didn't mention warmer climates in my OP was because I assumed anything mentioned by members response would almost certainly be warmer than where I am now.
I checked out the #1 Icelandic dating site (IceHarmony.com) and the chicks looked frigid.

Pros: Bottom of the world, tons of affordable land out of main centres, low population, low corruption, low government interference, very leniant judicial system, good welfare and healthcare system, lots of nice beaches, mild weather great for growing in, i think biggest pot smokers per capita in the world or at least 2nd or 3rd.
Cons: Bottom of the world, girls are below par especially in attitude, being the butt of australian sheep jokes all the time gets old really fast
