If you were asked to help a beginner pick 4 strains he should run. What would they be

I know we get caught up in what is the best or what yields the most. I look at this as what 4 strains would give him a good general look at what he might like or would help him out for seed choices later on.

I'd send them over to the House Of Love to pick their flavor. No fail situation. These are inexpensive, quality hybrids that grow very well. They lost the Sour Cindy or I would recomend that but there are a ton of very succesful grows well documented.
I would let them learn the ropes with a quality hybrid over a finicky ibl.

My personal opinion is that any beginner should only run one strain at a time, especially if it'll be your first grow. Things get complicated when you have to care for a bunch of plants with different nutritional needs, growth patterns, and so on. Growing just a single variety keeps things more simple and leads to greater chances of success for a new grower.

House of love. Midnite madness is highly recommended. Gnarly plants you couldn't kill with a chainsaw. Sour Cindy is fine smoke. Casey's Queen has a nice flavor. All are potent.

This was my first grow. Roots Organic potting soil and ph'ed water.

Friend is right. Have a nice day. bg

Any Nirvana seeds would be great choices and not kill the bank account too bad. I've had great results with bubblelicious and AK-48. Have had recommendations for papaya and Aurora Indica as being great choices too.

Yes that... Good call and who ever said one strain very good call..
But I would give my buddy a few well rooted cuts.. I'm trying the seed runs now and it's like almost starting to learn to grow again..
But yes as a recap bag seed one strain if it had to be seed
If not cuts are the way to go eaz wise..

i would say bag seed ,do a bunch of germanations ,even if you dont grow them ,,i would put them out side somewhere to see if they make it to years end,its a costly mistake to by top dollar seeds and have a failure of some sort ,if growing in soil look up subcools super soil mix ,follow it then flush with a garden hose befor plantining in it ,works every time with out fail ,good luck

What to try...what to try.....

That's what I found myself thinking, and after doing a lot of browsing, I found two strains that were commonly thrown into the "if it's your first grow try these..." bag by MANY of our fellow growers.

One was northern lights, and the other was AK47 by serious seeds.

I opted for the AK, and it proved to be as relatively pain free to grow as most people said it would be, DESPITE the fact that I pretty much don't know WHAT the fuck I'm doing.

:)

While I'm certain there are a HUGE number of strains that would be a great first choice, the serious seeds AK47 worked for me and many others, and I'd definitely give it a strong recommendation.

Oh yeha I forgot add pick a fairly fast flower time strain
I've multiple runs and still don't want to wait 10 to 12 weeks
For finish.. That said I do have 12 weekers just start them 4 weeks sooner than my 8 weekers . So it isn't as hard on me lol

3 classics, ak northern and rhino. Definately white rhino run it high or low temp high or low ph and it will still live. (Within reason) For me its the last plant to show signs of stress when somthing goes wrong and i run rdwc so every plant gets the same conditions.

Thanks Hayday for your kind words. This week, HOL gear will all be priced @ 2 for 1, on both sites. They will be marked down until they're gone, to make room for the next round.

Oh, and the Sour Cindy isn't lost quite yet... I'll be doing an f2 seed run on SC and Blue Vixen later this year :)

Something from the server fund, or Nirvana. Cheap seeds in case problems arise.

No sense in growing $100+ packs of seeds for your first run.
