CX Hydroponics nutrient trial

We're thinking about stocking the CX brand of nutes in our store and on our website, so they sent me a sample set of the whole line to try. I typically grow very organically, and hardly use any bottled products, so this is a big step outside of my comfort zone...

I'll be testing them with two different plants (Cheesedog and Hogsbreath), that I've grown (and smoked) enough to know how they should turn out. They'll be veg'ing in 1.5 gallon Air Pots, underneath a 400w Hortilux Blue with supplemental vertical T5's. Just before flower they'll be transplanted to 5.2 Air Pots, and will finish under a Gavita Pro 1000. Royal Golds basement mix will be the medium for the entire grow.

I'll post some pics of the plants tonight or tomorrow sometime.

awesome man, nice to hear some feedback already. I'll be giving them their first watering tonight.

I have used some of there stuff before. Scored some for free at a hydro show. I was pretty happy with the regen a root and the headmasta.

i had some root rot/pythium going on 2 runs ago, used their wilt guard in week 4/5 and although my plants didnt get super nice, they atleast survived and continued budding till i was able to cut...but im convinced that if id have used the regen a root as well then my plants would have gotten nicer...kinda like a 1-2 combo, wilt guard to help stop it in its tracks, and regen a root to boost it back up

used these myself if your growing organically the pothash isn't organic

I have their full line too but I had a few problems with the base nutes so stopped using those

regen a root is great also the potash and headmasta do what they should do

any info on growth enhancer not seen that one before

the npk is 11-0-0, and this is from their website

"Increase Chlorophyl Levels
Use for boosting low nitrogen levels and stimulating vigorous growth. Are your plants looking a bit pale? This may well mean that they are lacking in nitrogen. It also means that they are lacking in chlorophyll which is the plant’s food factory. If they are lacking in chlorophyll then they don’t manufacture as much food as they should and the crop will be smaller than it should be. A low nitrogen uptake reduces the amount of proteins and amino acids created by the plant which reduces the quality.
So, is there enough nitrogen in the nutrient concentrates you buy? Yes, usually there is as long as you have bought a quality nutrient.
The problem is not only in the amount of nitrogen but also in the form as well as in the amount of other nutrients and non nutrient salts in the solution. For instance, total nitrogen levels should be 55% to 65% higher than calcium. Interestingly chloride (common in tap water) can inhibit the uptake of the nitrate form of nitrogen. Actual nitrogen loss (known as denitrification) can also occur from the nutrient solution, especially in warmer conditions. To further complicate matters the form of the nitrogen required changes from a higher nitrate to a higher ammonium requirement when plants move from the growing stage to the flowering stage. We are, of course, trying to supply our plants a balanced solution around the plant’s roots and this balance changes according to plant uptake. So while the nutrient concentrate might be well balanced at the start, the plant may have made the solution unbalanced. This means that the correct form of nitrogen may not be available according to the plant’s exact needs.
In twenty liters of freshly made up nutrient solution there is only about 2-6 grams of nitrogen. When you consider how much actual nitrogen there is in the nutrient solution it’s not hard to see how a small amount lost can lead to big changes in availability. By the time the plant has taken some up, the biological activity has consumed some and some has been lost through denitrification, it doesn’t take long before there is a serious nitrogen shortage in your system.
How can you correct this problem? Only Mighty Grow can do it. Our Hot Mix Technology allows us to sequester the nitrogen in solution to make it available only to the plant. A sustained release of nitrogen means that the plant will never be short of this essential element. Your plants will be greener and healthier than ever before."

here are some pics (that I meant to post 2 days ago)... I watered them with the CX stuff on Sunday night using the Ultimate Growth for Soil, Bio Balancer, Mighty Grow, Regen-A-Root, and Wilt Guard - all according to their feeding chart.

Obviously these pics weren't taken under the Horti Blue I mentioned before; the veg box is under a little construction at the moment, so I moved them under the Gavita.

What happened to the CX Hydroponics products trial???

It started June 23, 2012 and ends 3 days later...with no more replies from the original poster. To bad I was hoping to get some good facts on 2 of there products the Regen-A-Root, and Wilt Guard. Weird Jimmy, I know its been almost two and a half years, but if you can remember the results, could you possibly give us a to the point written report on your results.

Or was this trial a complete FAIL...Which would also be good "Intel".

Thanks in advance.

Peace...B

Hi mate, Regen-a-root and Wilt Guard are two popular products local to where I am especially with DWC/NFT growers during the summer months when they're struggling with pythium.

I have no personal experience but from talking to several users and from working in a shop years past that pushed the CX stuff I can comfortably say they are pretty good products. Wilt Guard if I remember right is a whole bunch of good beneficial bacteria n shit.

Peace

I am also curious to what happened . My hydro store just told me about this company and said good things about their products. I wish this fellow had continued.
