400w Philips CMH grow - Soil Auto AK47

OK, so part one starts off with an already in progress first grow. It's an Auto AK47 cross. I don't know much about it, but it performs pretty good and is pretty easy to grow.

They were started in a RDWC hydro system in 2" net pots under 4 23W mixed temp CFLs.

They outgrew their vertical and horizontal space under the lights



and I had just finished building my new tent/cab setup with a 250W CMH to grow Part 2 - Delicious Seed Critical Sensi Star in 5g rdwc totes... More about that later - so I potted them in 8" 3qt pots with some Miracle Grow moisture control soil.

I transplanted on Wednesday and I can't believe I didn't take any pics, but they were both fully grown up to the CFLs. I had to turn the lights off that day before I could transplant so that the leaves wouldn't get burnt.

And just tonight before light out...
Taller one is 7", up 1" from yesterday. Smaller one is 5" also up an inch from yesterday.

Since they're already about a week in to flower, I figured I might as well finish them up and they should be done before the 2 Sensi Stars fill up the scrog. If not, I can move them to the other side of the cab.

The setup:
6'x3'x4' framed tent on custom built table top divided into 2 3x3's
Panda Film
S&P TD-Silent 150
Passive intakes
6"x14" charcoal
Air cooled hoods
2x 5g RDWC bins per side flush mounted with table top
3.75" net pots, rapid rooters, hydroton
1x 250W Accendo Digital CMH ballast with Philips Retro White
Coming Soon:
Additional 150W Philips CMH on Philips Advance eHID ballast

Side 2 is going to be:
3x 150W Philips CMH, 3K and 4K mixed on eHID ballasts
Air Cooled hood


Once the Critical grow gets fully underway I'll start logging it in a separate thread. Waiting for seeds to germ.

It's looking nice. Sucks auto plants are so small but atleast they finish quick.

These didn't have optimal conditions for most of their grow. The veg phase was stunted pretty hard. I'm about to harvest in a couple days and the yield is looking surprisingly good. I'll report back with pics and wet/dry weights. I seriously love this strain, though and plan on putting it to good use in a few months.

Harvested the taller of the two plants today. Pulled 35.4g wet from an 11" tall plant. Most trich's were at least 1/2 cloudy with a smattering of amber trich's dispersed around. Went for a slightly early pull on this one as I want to experience a more energetic "up" high. The second plant is 9-10" tall and I'm going to let it ripen up a bit more for a more anxiety relieving trip. Also, some of the leaves are turning purple, I'd like to let that mature out a bit more to see the results. Hopefully they turn out with those traits but this is my first grow and first harvest, so we'll see!

I found harvesting to be quite therapeutic and fun. Definitely need a better pair of scissors, though. My fingers are fucking killing me! They got so damn sticky and coated thick with gummy resin.

Collected 9.5g dry from 35.4g wet. I wouldn't say that plants flowered under CMH are particularly "leafy" as some would claim. I did trim and defoliate through most of the grow to help light get down lower but trimming the buds went quick and smooth.
