Do you have any more info on these guys? Is it a ballast + light kit? Price? Their website is leaving a lot to be desired lol.

This is the most advanced lighting in the world. We just got in on the latest order. We will be 1st in MI with them. He sent me pics of grows and shared numbers that double the best growers in the world. He sent us a bulb yesterday. This shit is the REAL FUCKING DEAL. 313Ninja is right, The numbers dont lie. He made a video last night but its down right now. Ill post it asap.

I do not doubt the bulbs or anything... Just not much info on their site. I'd love to know more... That spectrum on the 900w bulb is just plain orgasmic.

They are coming out with all the MSRP stuff coming up real soon. I love that pic of the spectrum from the spectrometer...to be honest I was impressed seeing a spectrometer in person :) The best part about the micro-mole rating is that when I saw that 600 reading...that was at 5.5 feet away from the meter. I have also seen grow logs and the GPW results are REDICULOUS. Once someone else spits out the GPW number I will go ahead and chime in...I just don't want to get flamed on here and have everyone just say "blah blah blah that is BS ect...). All I am saying is that if there are no issues with the hardware itself, it is the holy grail. Before going all in with the tech, I will def be testing one doing a controlled side-by-side and see what the results are. FYI...the 900w is awesome...but the adapter to run 2x 315's was what impressed me with the minimal heat it put out. I will def keep everyone posted as I learn more details regarding the product.

Happy Growing!

900w spectrum

900w spectrum

Actually that spectrum is from the 315's (two of them in the OG).

The one I am posting (hopefully I do it correctly) is the 900w bulb...just an fyi.

Is that bulb just a reboot of the 830W/860W CDM AllStart?

I would just about bet on it. I'm always skeptical when people start talking about "our" lamps - there is no way in hell that a handful of growers tooled up and started manufacturing a "game-changing" lamp. Perhaps they could contract with a real lamp manufacturer to tailor the salt/gas makeup of a lamp for them if presented with a large enough order - maybe.

My thoughts exactly. But how did they get the 830/860w cdm and make it a 900w?? What ballast does it run on, etc? I think I am going to call the place tomorrow.

lol that's always much more productive than fantasizing about it on a forum :D

If you're going to call them anyway: Since they are so for PAR and spectrum quality surely they can tell you the PPF of the lamp.

You're the person i wanted to comment on this subject. I was wondering if Gavita had something like this in the works? Or just your opinion on the subject. Thanks

well let's first see how efficient it is. Any company that talks the PAR talk should walk the walk too.

No, Gavita doesn't have a lamp like this in the works. I can't comment on it when I haven't seen it yet of course.

I have the Philips 860w allstart (CDM860/V/O/4K/EA BT37 AllStart). It looks exactly like the one pictured in the dnalightingsolutions website.

It fires on my 1000W sunlight supply ballast, at the HPS setting. I don't know why.

If someone can package it so that it doesn't break, it may be worth the extra $10-15 bucks. Right now, if you order from b*u*l*bs.com, they pack it well, but the bulb comes in a flimsy cardboard "case".

I ordered two, one broke on delivery.

Measuring a lot of light close to a light source is very easy, in the end when they are measuring at a bigger distance and the luminaire is still only lighting a few square meters the PAR value drops dramaticly. they are measuring a surface which is about 3 square meter. with an average of 400 µmol/m2s (they measure between 160 and 660 PAR) in their own measurement the sum is 1200 µmol. with a powerconsumption of 900W the system efficiency is only 1,33 µmol per W/s.

2 pcs. 315W CMH AGRO's in a good reflector should do about the same lightlevel.

I'd be really interested to see how a 315w Agro in the OG hood would stack up against the Greenbeams hood. The Greenbeams is much shorter overall because the OG is built for the larger lamps, but it seems like the OG's box with the mogul socket inside could be done away with, reducing the overall height. Does anyone have an OG to see how much this would reduce the overall height?

Seems to me they're just selling the Philips bulb...

I don't think there is going to be much improvement in CMH until there are more digital ballasts readily available for them. Seems there are so many people entrenched in the MH/HPS camp and they're all paralyzed to try something new.

Well I just sent a email to the president of the company with a link to here.

I asked him if his bulb is the same bulb. One thing I do know is he told me that the bulb is sold with there ballast as a pair or with an OG. They did research with other ballasts and ended up having to have a ballast built for it. What ballasts do people use to run those Phillips 860 and are there spectrums and par readings?

The poster noone88, that I quoted above, uses a 1000w hps mag ballast.

What ballast does DNA sell with the bulb?

I didn't get to call them today, got busy and distracted and forgot.

But the DNA bulb is only vertical burn, right? So is the Philips... They look the same, too... Seems to me they are just packaging it with a ballast that overdrives it by a few watts. Look at the spectrum from the other Philips CDMs, now imagine that in a 900w version. Seems that CMH gets pretty kick ass with higher wattage.

But as Rives (or whoever it was that said it just prior) said, no way a couple of growers got together and commissioned a company like Philips or GE to make a specialty bulb unless they had like a 100K+ units made... Unless it's just some Chinese junk.

A local company here replaced all their HID lighting with Plasma setups and I know the electrician that went out there... Turns out it was all Chinese junk with no part numbers or any type of info on the bulbs/ballasts at all... So basically, after they burn out the whole assembly, ballast and all needs to be replaced with regular HID again lol.

By the physical and wattage characteristics I'm willing to bet they're just peddling the Philips bulb with a digital ballast to take full advantage of the bulb.
