Cann's Organic No-Till Garden

Welcome to the forum, z.

Check out the living organic soil sticky and the ROLS megathread. People have been running no-tills for a few years now and more are joining in all the time. Couple more items to add to my soil and I'll be ready to start.

Thanks!

I love to hang around all you other guys with a similar geeky aspie approach to things! :D

These forums made me to instantly switch over to organic once I saw how much info I can gather, fits I was hesitant to do it because I was afraid I would have to do it blindly.

This no-till stuff interests me a lot, only I need to feel confident that I know what I am doing before committing to it.

I love to see where this thread ends up, good stuff for sure!

Cann the prices yall pay for electricity are insane and prohibitive. It's insanity we pay for electricity to grow weed inside under light bulbs when that gigantic fucking sun is up there all the time.

MrS I feel ya...thats part of the reason I'm moving back to the PNW. electric down here is a joke. the sun down here on the other hand....now thats some powerful free energy!

It does indeed seem ridiculous to pay for that type of wattage inside when I can get the same thing for free in my backyard..

one day it'll be legal and we can grow fields of cannabis under the sun and pop thousands of beans.....until then, I will continue to pay absurd amounts for electric, and hide my treasured garden indoors under fake lights.

funny what things have come to, eh?

Very well said. Exactly.

I can only imagine the monsters I could grow using these techniques outdoors...

Any idea how long it would take for a solar panel to pay itself off?

I'm really enjoying the thread, I like your words. Reminds me of the bard, himself. Feelin' the love! :woohoo:

I am not sure on the solar panel investment, but from the folks I've talked to I believe it takes around 20 years to pay them off in full (depending on where you live of course - you'll pay 'em off way faster in the desert than you would in the PNW...)

Man, I felt like I was dosed on some family L last night. Passing the pipe with my boy from O-town, I was getting visuals of rainbow spirals... like fractal tentacles starting from the center of my eyes, spinning round and round, kinda spreading out and coming at me...

when perma-grin never set in and the spirals didn't disappear, I got a splitting migraine... that's when I thought I was just having a bad reaction to the chemmy-dro that was in boy's chillum...

Cann, Brilliant thread!! Well done!
I am in the process of learning all of this stuff myself. In an earlier post you said that its sort of difficult to transplant 1 gal rootball into 5 gal containers, why not just put clones directly in the five gallon planters and keep in veg for a bit then move the planter to flower when the time is right? Maybe you answered this but honestly this thread is blowing up and is a bit hard to stay up with. Lol
Keep up the good work!

I can barely fit a 5gal pot through my door into the flower room...its a 8x8 tent setup within a 10x9 bedroom, so you get the picture. I can totally do what you are talking about with 5 gallon pots, and in fact I did with one pot from last round (i planted 3 clones in it - you can see pics a few pages back). the reason i didn't reuse all my pots from last round is because I didn't feel my soil was good enough to go for another round, I want to improve the soil and then it will be no-till from here on out. all the no-tills I have planted recently are filled with good soil that I am confident will run for multiple cycles.
