HI all, just wanted to weigh in on the so called " KUSH CRAZE"

It has been now i guess about a solid 5 years now that the marijuana market all around the world has been absolutely flooded with KUSH and it's brothers and sisters( Chemdog, GS Cookies, OG Kush, Bubba Kush, Tahoe OG Kush, SFV OG Kush, Abusive, and so on and so on

So my question to all here is simple?

ARE YOU SICK OF THE KUSH CRAZE YET?

I know i am, i prefer the high's of sativa;s and it's crosses like Jack Herrer and Sage, and African Sativas and Mexican Sativas, and the Hazes of course,,

BUT i want to know what everyone else thinks...

I know why everyone LOVES the kush, ease of growth, high yield, demands a high price on the market..easy to trim all of these are factors, but the one that is the biggest is the type of high...People these days want to be NUMBED and or ZOMBIEFIED...and thats what these strains do..they don't promote thoughts. or are amazing to be active on or make stuff..they make you want to VEG

So who's with me and is SICK OF THE KUSH CRAZE

EDIT: I see the amazing potential for medicinal qualities in these strains and by no means want them to be damaged or lost...I am all about PRESERVATION...it just seems lately people have been WATERING THINGS DOWN...that's all

AND I DO ENJOY KUSH,,,just not all the time

i like sativa, and i also like kush. i like to have the choice of those and a few in-between.

its not about being zombified... a good bodystone is fantastic for pain or aching muscles or just wanting to relax at the end of the day, and bubba for one has quite a good head high too.

short answer - Nope, not sick of it, probably never will be.

I like sativa highs...the more electric, the trippier the better.

My customers like Kush...they like being stone to the bone, the vast majority of them.

But that is the fantastic thing about being the grower...I can satisfy them and me and avoid the argument completely. What do I care what seemingly everyone else likes...I can put a plant in the corner and make myself happy as hell, and the rest, I can make other people happy as hell.

I got no real interest in the debate...there is no right or wrong. We are talking about a completely subjective subject.

I hear you, I'm on the east coast and everything is KUSH. It doesn't matter what it is, what it smokes like. Its kush or gas. I'm 33 and I have been through all the incantations of marijuana. In the early 90's it was chronic, mid 90's kind bud, late 90's kb/northern lights and the ubiquitous dro. Dro continued until 2003 and it became "HAZE" or "purple." In florida in the mid 2000's it was all "crip" or crippy, and lingo seemed to be separating by location again. 2006-2011 everything had a name even if that wasn't what it was, a bunch of ridiculous new names for already existing strains. Now, everything is gas, loud or kush. I could be kali mist or super silver haze......its kush. I'm sick of it....thats why I started growing so I could know what the hell i was smoking and keep track of what I liked. It sucks coming across some fire dank, only to have it mislabeled, and then impossible to find again.

I've got no real opinion on the matter but I do find it interesting that we're moving towards an industry that is dominated by strains that can all be traced back to a few seeds from one ounce of bud.

Wonder what things would be like now if chem never came around?

Have you ever grown any of these?

OG is actually very picky and tough to grow and clone, their yield generally sucks. Like OG, Bubba's yield sucks too and it grows slower then a snail shits.

OG also seems to pass off it's difficulty to clone in its crosses as well.

They're good bud, but once you've tried to clone them their novelty quickly wears off.

I just did a run of just OG's and Bubba it it was my lowest yield in years.

I wont be growing either of them again for a while, and if I do it's strictly for my personal stash as they don't produce enough to be profitable. I don't actually find OG or Bubs to be zobifying, I've been known to roast some OG and bust out some serious work.

All bud has its place, but it is kind of ridiculous how a handful of strains is taking over the entire industry. But hey they did the same thing with skunk.

This poll is so one sided.

Lemme think, what do i like better?

Being relaxed or hyperactive?

Laughing cause i don't understand shit or having an anxiety attack and mild schizophrenia?

Enjoying myself or going completely insane?

I'll take the indica dominant over the sativa any day of the week but don't take it personal, that's just my honest opinion.

guys I was asking your opinion

so regardless if it's one sided I want people's opinions

and yes I have grown out the OG Kush(bad yielder but amazingly potent smoke)BTW it yields bad due to the sativa qualities of the gentics,,,yield is important if you want to make money...but not if it's for the love of the plant and you are searching for a specific high

So are you saying sativa's yield bad?

Yield is a quality everyone can find important, even if you are a personal grower you still need to yield enough to get you thru til next harvest. Also I find it ridiculous when people assume that if you grow for profit you can't love the plant or you don't search for specific high's. Seems like you are making a lot of vast generalizations.

yes generally sativa's have smaller more airy buds that weigh less(generally)

there are high yielding sativa's but hazes and such YES tend to yield WAY LESS then their indica counterparts

HidingInTheHaze, i don't really care that you think i am making generalizations and I never said you can't love the plant if you are interested in making money...It seems you are making the genralizations...WHY are you being so arguementattove dude...It's a forum where people can express their opinions,,,There are NO RIGHT or WRONGS here...

Just personal preferences...I could have asked if people like pepsi or coke But i asked if people were sick of the "kush craze"

is this OK with you buddy???

Sativa's usually yeild through the roof. I grew some OG kush s1's & the sativa plants where high yeilding. The best pheno had very sativa leafs & rock hard indica buds. Deffinately not a kush plant.

Well chef after reading some of your post in this thread I have a hard time taking you seriously. I think you just made a thread to bash things you have minimal experience with.

I've run more strains then I can ever keep track of, it goes far beyond saying indica's yield great and sativa's yield poorly, this would be an inexperienced point of view.

OG kushes arent even kushes, and there is no craze over hindu's lol.

I thought OG kush was Thai x Hindu Kush? The s1's really showed the genetic spectrum, they were largely sativa dominate plants. Either indica leafs with sativa buds or sativa leafs with tight indica buds. Atleast from the seeds I popped.

Edit: I am a little crazed over hindu's myself, paki's & afghani's too.

no Easy7 real OG Kush is

OG Kush: chemdog x [old world paki kush x lemon thai]

edit: and the lemon thai is the sativa it is what gives OG kush its heady high and lemony flavour
