I think its quite clever. I can see squabbles emerging though when 2 users disagree on the pop up wording that should be used. There are entire threads dedicated to trying to find the meaning of a simple word like male for instance.
it won't work with any words that have code with them, like bold or font size
LOL! I just did! I complained about someone who complained about his links to a site showing porn getting censored...It might be annoying in certain situations but show some appreciation! You think that everything we do is convientent for SKIP? No way, show the man some appreciation for the work he does! He doesn't complain when we do something he doesn't like.
That's why the glossary is open for all to comment on (coming soon).I think its quite clever. I can see squabbles emerging though when 2 users disagree on the pop up wording that should be used. There are entire threads dedicated to trying to find the meaning of a simple word like male for instance.
Ha! Those who think they know it all, don't. You should see some of the technical terms in there, that I bet you and most others complaining don't know.Very annoying feature for anyone that's grown for more than about 2 weeks.
Isn't there an option to turn this feature off per user?
Yes, common terms have been removed and more will be. It's just an import from existing glossaries on the site (there are a few). Its less visually disruptive to read like this , greenhouse clone ganja thc cbd genetics , but if you could strip out the really common knowledge ones it could be less intrusive but still usefull.
If members are supposed to be over 18 they should be familiar with the fundamental terms , going on a car forum with popups for basics like engine and wheels would be similarly annoying and redundant.
