as the title implies, i found 420 zillion horsetail ferns while trying to find the spring source. theyre only like 3-6" tall.,, and still in their phallic mushroomy shape, not the wirey tree body scrubber shape at maturity
would one want to gather these in the fall, after thier biodynamic accumulating abilities have been working all summer? or now?
I want to add them to the garden and soil mix, but brain says wait till they are slam full of goodies at the end of their life cycle
inputs?
dank you:thank you:

edit, she pointed them out the other day on our walk, i forgot(duh...)

Oh, its on my property and going nowhere, for sure. ever.
but I was wondering about the nutrient content...or is it a plant that sucks stuff up its whole life?
Thanks for answering
what does that sanskrit say? or is it another language?

In northern climates, horsetail dies back in the winter. When plants die back, they translocate minerals into the root system to store for the winter. The plant will be tapping into those stores to facilitate the new emerging growth.

I would use it without a second thought. I would make sure that they were dried first since they're going into your garden.
