Can you grow organically in a DWC system?

I grow in soil right now, i mix ocean forest with sunshine mix
4 i believe it is. I brew compost teas and only use omri products.
I use r/o water bubbled for 48 hrs. I love the way organic herb tastes,
For example when i give buddy a clone, and he runs all chemicals (h&g)
On that clone . The same strain im running organically. Its like
night and day. Mine is more earthy, fruitier or more sour. His is blah..
but has a better yield.. So my question is can u run organics in
a DWC system.. I have no experience with dwc , only soil.i have read
some about it and watched plenty of you tube videos on it, and every
One is using chemicals.

It can be done, but you would need to do water changes so frequent due to organic matter building up, and PH fluctuations it would probably be more of a pain in the a** then it's worth.. But that's just my 2 cents.. Happy Farming

Theoretically it can be done.

I've heard of it being done by others.

AFAIK... you would do well to set it up with plants you can trash. Let it run and create a bio-field for a week, dump it and add a new fresh res without rinsing. Maybe do the same thing again?

Then take out the plants and put in new ones.

As far as maintenance... I have no idea, but checking pH isn't something you're going to be doing. The bio-field takes care of that.

Supposedly a system that's been run properly for around a year is when things really start to take off.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

Here in EU GHE call it bioponic, you add a biofilter to your system for bacteria and such( here they have 2 product one called subculture and one is called BM) that you add to your filter.
GHE got a product called bio sevia (botteld organics) but you can use General organics.

I have tried it all and w/o going to deep, my recommendation would be to set up an organic coco dtw. It's basically hydro and rivals any dwc system with out the risks, and dwc organic is risky and a pain in the arse. I am running coco dtw. Not orgo at the moment but I did do one last run and it produced same as soluble nutes. Did GH orgo. It costs a little more to do orgo and little more effort, hence my decision to go "synthetic".

Also, you should to get into brewing your own tea if you go orgo. And once you get that down, experiment with dwc. And w rdwc, shit goes bad in one, you could lose the whole crop.

I have been looking into the tlo growing too, i bought
the revs book on it... Thats where i picked up alot of my
organic tips and info... i use his compost tea recipe..
Do you run tlo? If so , what kind of yields are you getting
in your set-up?

im on micro scale but the simplicity of just water and teas makes its extremely easy and awesome. here some pics of my grow using a 150w HPS. first pic is Carolina Blue x Digi berry Bx1 released by stank bros, second pic is GDPxQuerkle by Hammerhead.

yields are not worthing comparing because my soil volume is very small and amount of light provided is small.

if you run atleast 5 gallon buckets of a good mix with some good light coverage im sure you wil have no problem pulling maybe 4 zips a plant, maybe more with the right strains, idk its hard to say cuz honestly ive never done it, just speaking from observations.

wait for more to chime in i guess. i would just say stick to soil and try and make it better rather than converting to hydro.

can't say cuz I haven't smoked them yet, but the GDPxQuerkle smells and looks amazing and the Carolina Blue x Digi Berry BX1 is two weeks behind but it is barely noticeable so I have a feeling that they will be awesome.

It can be done, check out Bigtokes Bio buckets sticky in the hydro section. Also, there is a whole organic hydro sub forum in the hydro section. Another thing to check out is the general hydroponic's Go Box. I haven't tried it, but it seems to be a good way to get your feet wet in organic hydro(pun intended), on the cheap. I am pretty sure that it is enough to get you all the way through a grow or two(in one 5 to 10 gallon res), without really needing anything else.
