Im a long time reader and this is my first indoor, first hydro attempt and first post. I'm actually already in week 5 flower and just haven't had time to post my progress.

Room is 12'x15'x10'. This is a passive setup so I have 2 10" passive intakes pulling cool air from under the building. There's a 1400 cfm Vortex fan hooked up to a can-100 filter.

Lamps are 600w Lumatek HPS bulbs in Hydrofarm Daystar hoods (not vented, no glass) 2x600w over each 3x6 flood table, 8 total. I have 4 Lumatek dual-600w ballasts running the 8 lamps.

House & Garden nutrients and coco in Geo-Pots. 15 plants per table, 4 3x6 flood tables and a 100 gallon reservoir.

vegged for 6 weeks before flipping to flower.

Very nice! So you plan on hand trimming or machine? Ahhh... trimming bud, the best worst job ever. Or is it the worst best job ever! lol.

Thanks! Probably gonna hand trim this one... I'm pretty low on funds after this run so I'm going to need a return on investment before I can justify anything more right now. Paying for the next rounds media and nutrients is going to be expensive enough.

Very nice, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Curious, why were the lights so far from the plants in the start of the crop?

Also, what kind of nutrient and ph levels are you running?

Thanks again!

Honestly, I was a pussy and could have been much closer to the canopy. Now that I have the room dialed, next round l'll start out a lot lower and keep the lamps as low as I can.

Wow...8 lights, and you bought lumatek and 600W. BLAH! What a crazy expense, you are running 4800W, no?

Two lights over each table, 4 tables total, each table is 3x6? I would of seriously just bought 4 analog 1000W ballasts, arranged the tables so that there are two 6x6 tables, instead of 4 - 3x6 tables, and then put two 1000W over each table. I would of bought 4 less ballasts, 4 less bulbs to change, and even though I am running 800W less of electricity, I bet I will have better coverage, better penetration, and similar yield.

I mean seriously the ballast you bought is $300, an analog 1000W ballast that I wire myself is $80, plus a generic bulb, $100 even. I spend $400 on my ballasts and bulbs, and you spend what...$2,500? Plus you are using more electricity, producing more heat, had to buy more vented hoods...I really wish I could of consulted with you before you put your grow together.

Thanks! I'm very excited for the LA con as well, it will be the first time I smoke it, lol. Same with the BBK and LSD. I love the H&G coco although I don't have much experience with much else. In the medium I don't use any additives, just straight coco out the bag. Next round I'm going to fill the pots with coco and run ph balanced water through the geo-pots to clean the cop and break it up. After that ill run 1/2 dose nutrients through the medium and plant my clones.

As far as the feed schedule is concerned, at this point (week 6) I'm feeding daily. I have timers but I end up watering manually. At the moment, I'm running the pumps for 5 minutes. Up until last week I was watering every other day and at the end of veg (6 weeks) I was only watering for 5 min. every other day. I had a hard time dialing this in, I was overwatering in the beginning, running the pumps fully open for 5-10 minutes would allow the water level to get too high too fast. I closed the valves almost all the way and now the flood level only gets up the pots a couple inches, the coco wicks it up and now all is good.

I only use H&G and I'm running their Aquaflakes A&B, roots excel, multi-zen, drip clean, nitrogen boost, bud xl and shooting powder.

Currently in my 100g res is: Aquaflakes A&B, bud-xl, shooting powder and drip clean.

Did I answer your question?

Ph is usually 5.8 but drifts like crazy, I need to set my ph before each feed. Ppm's are around 1350 currently, week 6 flower.

Indicadom: This room isn't big enough for 2 6x6 tables and I choose 600w for the coverage. I'm more concerned with watts per sq./ft. than I am with total wattage used. Plus, this room is passive, not sealed. The hoods aren't vented, their totally open.

Nano 1000w: $205.00

Maybe you should do your consulting in the newbie sites, like THC farmer?? SL

It seems he is only using 4 ballasts. Though they are dual 600's. I like that idea of having four more bulbs as opposed to having 4 less. 2 lamps over the 3x6 is perfect too. I bet you can hit over 1lb per light. Keep the big fan leaves away from canopy and a little skirting of bottoms should be no sweat! Good luck Treef looking good!
