A question for the T5 vegging people

I want to start the perpetual grow, and a T5 is my only route. Can anyone show me an example of what a plant vegged under a T5 looks like after 60 days? I mainly do sativas and I'm very curious how big I can get them. Whats my best option for doing 6-12 plants (size of light, brand) with maxing out the veg in mind? Thanks

Vegging a sativa for 60 days under a t5 is overkill. I suggest if you are doing sats under a t5 that you scrog them for sure. That will get you the biggest plants possible while still getting them light. I also think that 6-12 plants under a 4' 8 bulb t5 is too many plants. For sativas I would probably do 2 under a 4' 8 bulb scrogged and that would probably be like 30 days veg max. Really depends on how much your strain(s) stretch.

These 2 have went about 40 days from clone under 192 watts of T-5HO.....but I have had to top them constantly because my cab hieght.

The problem you are going to have is getting that T-5 to penatrate deep into the tall plant canopy. Mine are just at 22" and the bottom leaves are already suffering.
If T-5 is your only way of flowering go SOG like the previous posted reccomended. You will be way better off.

By the way any T-5HO fixture will get it done for you. I use Sun Blaze brand.

unspoken is correct. A bit ambitious, for one light. Footprint is only 2'x4'.

U Can get a dozen in 1 gallons, for a while. Probably be crowded before too long though. So you really do need to be ready to move them on, probably in a month, maybe a month and a half.

Depending on growth rate 1.5'-2' Tall plants. I've seen 12 plants left in beer cups that tall, crowded into half that. But it was all vertical and NO room for spread. Were trying to hold them back, till other space became available. lol worked tho....

I have one at 66 days .. She is in flower now.. This was under 6 bulb t5.. It takes a long time to get big plants from t5..She also has 4x top and 4x LST. She was pruned befoe she went into flower.

Looks like you and Negative 37, are going to run them all the way? If so, I'd lollypop them and either tie'em down or put'em under wire. Flattop looks weird but it surely does produce under Flouro..... But you guys already knew that didn't you? lol

as previous posters have mentioned, you'd want to screen them. the reason for this, as someone said, is t5 doesnt penetrate deep, but you can get it super close, so spreading her in a screen will allow light to all of the nodes, and they can all grow, and the light can stay close, and...you see?

I did it differant since im not flowering under t5. I did some serious LST to open the plant for the t5 to penetrate while in veg.

BHOG is a low yielding strain. I should get min 4+oz. I hope for 6+. I just turned on the other 1k. So there getting 2250w now.. I have 2 1k and 1 600. when IM using the 2 1k I turn down the 600 to 250. I try to keep the Electric usage down. Its very expensive here.

I have a Cookie that was vegged just as long but GSC is a lanky plant with sparse buds. They dont grow very big.. Even with a 5' GSC I dont expect to get 4oz. 3 if im lucky.

Right on. Last one, how do you feel about the vho fluoros? Do those things put off too much heat for me to use in a closet?

Is that t12?? I used t12 long time ago. they worked OK but you cant get a plant much bigger then 12'" under those. I had them right ontop of the plants. T5 is the best most efficient HO Fluorescent bulb right now.

I cant use the 95w t5 bulbs. I have 54w bulbs in my Hydrofarm t5. You need to make sure the Ballast in your unit can Handel 95w bulbs most dont. Most use the 54w bulbs.. Make sure you have a VHO fixture to use those....
