Feeding Chem4

Most of you that know me, know I do my organic thing. I just recently grabbed the Chem4 cut and after some research, found info saying that Chem performs better when fed high doses of chemical nutrients. How much truth is to this?? Should I make an exception to the rule for the Chem?

I have never even seen any refined nutrients. (well, maybe a glance at the hydro shop). I was thinking about MG. I know it is taboo, but so is mineral nutes period in this garden.

I guess I am asking, has anybody grown the Chem organically and had good results? Is it true that Chem only shines when blasted with nutes?? I just put het into bloom. She grew very well in my HOT soil mix. Should I be looking for a chemical solution to apply to this plant?? I really just wanna see what the hype is about.

Thanks in advance for keeping this thread more civil than the other chem threads.

can't really help out with comparing organic vs. "chemical" nute regimen for the chem4. i have always used nutes fox farm with some phos. boosters like AN's bigbud or Canna's PK13-14, or supernaturals monster bloom.

i do know that chem4, for me, is difficult to fine tune. i think she requires a little more attention and love than some others i;ve came across. more attention to detail type of focus. but again i've seen excellent results consistently with her outdoors and with organic supplements.

good luck, she yields nice no matter what and takes forever to finish.

Forever to finish huh?? Well, that has become the new thing here. LOL!

I wanna see if this Chem will beat the Casey Jones and Apollo Mist for flavor. I haveent seen much on the flavor of her. Just that she stinks like hell and gets you stoned to the bone.

I dont know if I should believe King when he says that you must use Chemicals to realize the full potential of this plant. Who knows. A lot of his words have been debunked. But at the same time, I respect the man for trying to be as honest as possible. I just dont see how the extra harshness on the throat from mineral nutes could be a good thing. IDK. Just wondering what to do with her ya know.

I dont feed my plants. Ever. I just give them the microherd and it feeds them for me. I wouldnt know where to start on a garden that was not organic. I dont know how to use a Ph meter or how to mix nute solutions. But I can eyeball ammendments like a mofo!

We'll put this rest shortly:) I took my Chem 4 to 75 days in all organic coco and she's hanging to dry. She seems to like organics just fine. I lsted her, but one cola outgrew the rest and I'm confident there's at least a zip dry from that cola. Brasta's right, never trust the pistils on this girl, go solely by the trichs. I like her anywhere from 70-80 days, but 65 works in a pinch:) She'll take everything including the kitchen sink that ya can throw at her!

EDIT: Come to think of it, I believe I remember Charles Xavier saying something along the same line in Kinderfeld's Chem D BX1 thread. Start going through it on page 4 or so. I think the gist was it was supposedly came from the PNW and BC grow ops and the cut was selected for responding well to the environment there and nute feeding regimine. I doubt the beaster boys are feeding with organics, lol! Take it with a grain of salt, might be true or might be a great story.

astartes: Thanks for stoppin by bro. I am just trying to figure out the best way to handle this lady. Lemme know how she turns out for ya. Maybe this round I might hit her with some Tiger Bloom but I dont really have any mineral nutes on hand. And I cant see buying a whole lineup for one plant. But if she is that special, I might go for it next time. Assuming she isnt a picky one since I have 0 experience with nutes. LOL!

Your organic mix should be more than sufficient judging by the rest of your plants:) Maybe just give her a stiff shot of tiger bloom at weeks 4 and 6? She'll let ya know if things aren't going well.

Careful with that TigerBloom, comes stabilized in a hella low Ph, so you have to adjust it up a LOT or risk burning the girls!!

IMHO if you've gotten good results with your Organic method, you can still fine tune with your amendments and give her more than she'll ever need! (Why synthesize what can be organically perfect?)

Chem 4 is a great strain. I use organic amendments in heavily reused coco base, She will eat everything you throw at her so I just watch out I don't overdo it. Grows huge buds tastes great and is one of the trippiest chems very strong.

Which Pheno do you have experience with? How long was your flower period? I've heard some people say they've gotten 8wk pheno's? And other people say take it to eighty!! :-O :-D
