That is what i meant. A couple years back my buddy did that and convinced me to do it from overseas. I did. Not good. Haha

Yea covering the whole tray could invite all kinds of problems. I filled my rez this morning with a fresh batch of nutes. Hopefully the rest of the blocks will show roots tonight.

plenty of heat under the 4 inch block helps for the rooting,i sit my on the top of the dwc bucket under the 600watt light,normally have roots showing in 48 hours after transplant.goodluck and keep the nutrient low at the start ,you will be fine

i agree, did you have a fan on them? they look like they lost too much moisture..35 humidity is low... 1k+transplant shock and low humidity...ive lost plants in similar conditions, hope yours bounce back

unless they are literally sitting in water, you can't overwater RW.

20" from a 1k is WAAAY too much light. If that was a big clone it could easily been under a florescent. When I clone under my fluorescent, I move them out under a 400w that is around 30" higher and its still double the lumens from the fluorescent. Try raising your 1k up to at least 36"-40" or higher and see if that helps.

What is the temps you are working with? I know you answered this but this looks like a heat issue. I think your temps might be reaching high 70's maybe higher.
