I liked the show upto now, but when the cop found that grow it was like they had something big, but it looked like they new it had been abandoned for weeks.

One of the cops said something about they won't be happy when they get back.
Who would come back to that shit!lol!

The show is a huge disappointment to me. The producers had some adds in some local media here looking for growers to be on the show. They said they would comply with any growers needs to respect their privacy while filming and that they wanted to do a documentary on the day to day aspects of marijuana farmers and their operations. Nobody with a brain or any type of success or self respect would be on that show. Thats why none of the show actually seems to be in the emerald triangle.

It was very dishonest how they kept showing the cops in Jackson County (OREGON, hello!) flying around, and interspersed those shots with ones of the growers looking at the sky, like they were even in the same area!

MB has said that he was happy with the show, but everyone has to have their own reasons for doing that kind of thing, because you are not going to get your version depicted in the final cut, period.

Adapting BE Smith's pithy phrase from the show, "You want justice, go to a whorehouse. You wanna get f**ked, go on a Discovery documentary!"

It's too bad because there is such an incredible culture here and most will never have the privilege of being able to experience it or see how it really is.

Ganja --

Not to be too terribly OT here (and apologies if I am) but can you elaborate a little on how it is up there? I need to move out of state, basic concern is living out in the boondocks and growing my own weed without being bothered. Don't need to make a living off of weed, have my own income I can do anywhere.

Questions:

  • Do they do fracking in Emerald Triangle/Mount Shasta area?
  • Are they so hardcore running around looking for growers that they'll come after a small fry personal use grower? My fear has been that because they're so ramped up about it, you're more likely to get caught there than say North Carolina where we're not famous for growers.

Thanks
<3 Tesla

Teaching people to be smart and aware? Or just unloading facts on stupid people?

Ok. That's like overclocking an Intel Atom.

Weed Country

Have you been watching the show 'Weed Country?' Interesting fake reality show about growers there in the Emerald Triangle...

Is it a setup, or just a naive dispensary owner testing his nerve?

Editing makes it appear they are gonna get busted like every three minutes, or after the next break for commercials, but then they are back and the dog was barking at a squirrel.

It is appalling to see the mess growers leave behind in the forest... not a good thing. But what's a grower to do with all that crap at the end of a season... they've gotta packup and move out the weed - screw the old camp stove, the half-used bottles of pest repellant, partial containers of fertilizer. It's all about the benjamins as usual...

Hey Pay,
Haven't seen the show yet but I have seen pics of some grow sites that looked like trash dumps. Disgusting on every level.
The worst of it is sheer stupidity because if you take the time and effort to find a good spot, common sense would dictate that you keep the area clean as to not attract attention and reuse it many times.
Take the flowers, leave the rest to compost and the soil will actually improve the next year. Cannabis doesn't deplete soil like most other crops. It returns what it takes if composted according to the botanist guys who make it their business to know this stuff.

I dunno, maybe common sense isn't all that common as they say.

Then again, I'm just a closet rancher, so what do I know? I get good grades for neatness.
It counts in school and it counts in real life too.

Growers that do reckless destruction to the land are right on par with the mexi cartels, and should be treated as such. There is no excuse for that.

Lol,
Because they're in the eyeball grabbin business.
Same as gladiators back in the day. They want some to love em and some to hate em and all of them to watch them.

"These games brought to you by Pontifex Maximus... a name you know and trust."

'Reality' shows don't have much to do with reality, but have everything to do with grabbin eyeballs for advertisers.

This one sure does. It's great that they have 2 guys making the ultimate decision but what else I saw ( only 2 episodes ) isn't very helpful at all.

I don't think it's that bad of a show. The cops tend to piss me off with their attitude and views, but they do that in real life too. The growers are cool. Mike Buton seems like a good guy, strait shooter, but don't piss 'em off.

The dispensary owner is a train wreck, and destined for failure. kinda looked like a tweeker at times in last nights show.

Thought it was interesting that leo was flying past gardens the size of orchards to go after a clandestine grow on public land. That speaks volumes... could they be respecting local ordinances for plant counts on private land perhaps??

Tell that to all the vineyard owners, they do 100x more damage that pot ever will. A weed grower might grade a little 1 acre spot, with grapes you can be talking hundreds of acres of forest cleared and graded.

As for the show, its terrible imo, in fact its hard to watch its so cheesy scripted and fake, way too much editing manipulation.

I've seen part of the second show of Weed Country. Seemed pretty produced to me, know what I'm saying? Some nice grow shots though.
