My 1st attempt....

what is this?

what is this?

quick question please, if anyone got some spare time to help me out..
I just noticed this...
picture.php

Is this ok/meant to happen?

I thought that green circular thing was something i dropped, so tried to pick it up, and found out its a root i think.
I thought roots didnt like being exposed, and dislike light.

Do i cover it up, or just leave it.

Plants got fed yesterday Soil A+B, at ec 1.2 approx.
They seemed to enjoy, and havent shown me any problems taking in the higher ec...they look happier now in fact.lol
nearly completed my first week in 12/12.
Well chuffed ive managed to make it to this point. Fingers crossed they maintain health for duration of grow.

Thanks for looking, and any input appreciated.
Have a great weekend folks, and stay safe.

thanks guys , much appreciated.
That makes sense, as this was the only pot that had a lot less soil than the others, as i ran out of mix. Maybe ill go grab another bag on monday.

If i put a layer on top, that should be cool yeah?

thanks again you guys for the help, have a great weekend

What's up M8(like my use of UK slang?)? You've been quiet for longer than normal. Hope all is well with you!

looks good man. i'd recommend throwing up a layer of mulch, great info over in the organic section. will help from the settling of the soil around your roots as well as reduce the amount of watering needed. good luck!

Hi m8,

Hope all well for you too. :), loving the slang, ure a local now, think uve sussed it all out, so im well chuffed ;-)

All good here, just been busy with work and stuff going on.
I think i spent a bit too much time on here at the forums, and started slacking at work. Just been re-focusing my mind to not just think about greenz, lol

All good, so many thanks !

Day 10 Flower

Day 10 Flower

Seen a male pollen sack the other day, so he got chucked out of tent.
I had 3 runts amongst the seeds, that were always looking like they were weeks behind the majority of others. 2 of them didnt seem to grow quick, so they got chucked. One of the runts seems to be wanting to compete with the others for light and space, so i kept her/him. Hoping female, as i love the structure being displayed.

So, ive managed to get rid of 3 plants, which allows for a touch more space in there, which was needed. Hopefully next few days ill check everything again, and sort males and females. Ive definately got at least 4 females in there just now.
In total, 11 plants in there now

Hoping to change light to HPS in the next week or so.
My plan is to keep the metal halide on for first 10-20days of flowering. Currently, im at day 47 from seed, day 10 of flower.
Since its bit longer flowering, my hope was the metal halide would help decrease the stretch of the sativas in initial flowering.
Not sure if it will work, but so far, they still staying fairly squat.

Ec has been at 1.4max of the H&G Soil A+B, just once so far. Will prolly give em another feed in next day or so. Im finding they need some nutes/water every 2 days. So far, no signs of burn from the ec, so do i go up to 1.6Ec?

the runt i kept

Any input apprecaited, and thanks for reading.

Some of my runts end up being really good producers. Don't count them down and out. Great job so far!

if i had the room, i would have kept them going.
But the one ive kept has grown up real quick. Hoping its a she!
Thanks for popping in m8.

how much longer will u veg them...?whens the flip...

Hi m8, they in their 10th day of flower now.
They got flipped on their 28th day from seed. Not sure how much veg time was given. maybe a week or two. Im guessing seedling stage was about 2 weeks at min. Not sure tho, sorry.

Day 14 Flower, 49days since germination

Day 14 Flower, 49days since germination

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend.

Quick update as the week has flown by, and the plants seem to have progressed aswell.

All the bigger plants showed sex, and males were discarded.
Ive got 5 ladies in there now, so im really happy, and got more space for them to stretch their limbs. I was hoping for 6 max, so its worked out well.

They have been under a Metal Halide until now, day 14 of flower.
Today, they have been introduced to the 250w Sunmaster HPS Dual Spectrum bulb. Nice and orangey in there now.
Will keep tabs on the environment over next few days to see if their is any change due to bulb.

Had two of the lanky ladies topped, and now some of their branches bent over. Canopy is more level now, and hoping it stays a bit like that for a few weeks, lol
Plants are approx 60-75 cm tall from floor.

Some real nice smells when touching em up, lol
Will be staking them over this week, when i get time.

The smaller 'wierd one' as i called it, is still in there, and looks like its going to start showing its sex shortly. Seems to be in the process of reaching maturity. so i may have 5 or 6 females.

Feeding has been at 1.3-1.4ec of H&G Soil A+B.
Im now going to try and feed them more often with nutes than water now.

Any suggestions for what goes well with soil A+B for flowering?
Been reading some info of bloombastic, buddahs tree, big bud, etc
too many to choose from, lol.

Took some cuts from the females, got them in a prop.

Over the week i was gifted a cupla cuttings, so got gonzo and a lemon skunk or haze. Repotted them, and got them sitting under the 110W i used to start the seeds with, at the beginning of this thread. No nute feeds, as soil should do its job for at least a few waterings

Been told shes a real giver, so should be interesting to see her in action.

Thanks for looking, and any input always welcome and appreciated.

Try H&G's Bud xl. Thats my plan. This is my first run with H&G. I used to do AN and always liked big bud though.

Pretty sweet that you got some clones. I fucking hate dealing with seeds.

I'm learning the UK slang too! Fun :tiphat:

Your plants are looking great, good job.

Mine are at the point where I'm starting to see them forming big bud clusters -- I'm well chuffed :)

I started feeding mine molasses and it seems to be a good idea I have to say. I dissolved it into some warm water, stirred it really well, and added it to the nute water. Should have a good variety of trace minerals, and cheap to buy.
