someone who has grown only claypebbels and drippers and a drain table.and recirculate. could not find a thread on this. pump running 24/7?..

I have. But with Nutriculture Flo-Gro Tank. I think its similar or close to table.
And my pump is running 24/7. From start to end.
Using canna aqua line now but have used ghe line too.
Never have had any problems

And I have similar question with you, now going to use wilma 8 with pebbles and wondering if it will work same style. but i am 99,9% sure it works too.

Keep goin

Yeah swe...

You can run 24/7...you can run with timed intervals...you can run only lights on...you can run half hour on half hour off (common store timer settings)...

I go in 5.5" net pots with only clay pellets. I have gone to 24/7 after my front girls on the table dipped their roots into the res and blew up. They seem to like the constant feed...as long as you have enough O2 in the solution you won't have a problem.

But as I said in the opening of my reply...you can do lots of things...it will ALL work. Clay pellets are extremely flexible.

Good Luck

SoQuick ran top feed hydroton.

I'm unsure of what size pot he was in - 2-3 gallon, all hydroton. Top fed via 1/4" open end line for 30 seconds every 30 minutes.

Wish I could supply answers, but I've got the same question with an added twist: I run 5 gal buckets (non-recirculating and independent DWC), with 10" net pot (2.5 gal) of hydroton and a grodan cube. I fill my bucket with 3 gal nute mixture which pushes the water line almost an inch above bottom of net pot - girls do great with drip rings off, or on three evenly spread 10 minute cycles during lights on only - but when running 24/7 plants give clear sign of overwatering.

Is this due to water line being above net pot bottom? Is it due to the grodan cube? Is it simply because the drip ring is unnecessary?

Let the advice begin!

Hi Swecan,

I use this method & have done for about 10 yrs. Gravity drain table to 100L res. Hydroton & constant feed via drippers.
Very simple method for a 'house' grow where you're there to respond to problems should they arise. You will need about 6L of res water per plant to give yourself a little buffer but this system works fine.
Stay safe :tiphat:

The pH management of your res is going to depend on your drying out time.

Keep in mind that the nutrient solution goes up in concentration and down in pH as the water evaporates from it.

The more often you run the pump, the less of a pH drop your going to get from evaporation, therefore the greater the pH swing you'll need to allow in your res.

A drip with pumps running 24/7 would have a res starting with 5.2 pH that's allowed to rise to 5.8 or 6.1 (depending on strain) before being dropped back down to 5.2 using your nutes.

With GH and lucas you can keep this up the entire flowering period, no res dumps, no pH adjustments with up/down adjusters... just nutes.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:
