Help me Find the stress in my invirment

I built a room at my new place, it 12x8 insulated, and completely light proof. There are 1 5000 btu ac at each end, and can keep my temps and humidity in check. The room is sealed and I do not add co2 OR have intake exhaust.

I have grown 3 runs in this set up, The first was only about 10 plants and went without a hitch. I used A/c

the 2nd was with about 30 plants, all pre 98 bubba and went well till about week 5 i noticed some nanners. I finished the grow out cleaned the room checked for light leaks, and didnt find a problem. I was also using FFOF for my soil where I normally us promix. I didnt need the A/C for this run

3rd and cuurent is about 3 weeks in and I have noticed a few nanners and even a ball here and there on the under growth. I didnt need the A/C for this run

I am at a loss and trying to find the stress.

Here are some ideas I have,
they are in 9L pots on the concrete, should I put them on something other then the ground? never had problems with this before?

Could my rez water be to cold? I will check the temp today.

I was also wondering since I was not using my A/C when this problem came up, with no air exchange could the stress of low co2 levels cause them to hermie? growth has not slowed down and they look healthy.

Thanks for your help IC.

edit: Excuse my spelling. Just noticed I miss spelled the title of the thread....

Thanks, I've dug into the soil a bit and didn't see anything moving. What's the best way to check for root aphids?

I have another round vegging that I was going to toss into the room soon, I'd love to figure this out ASAP.

just go in there in the dark if you want to look for light leaks.

shit to check include...

temperature swings from day to night.

pots on concrete floors are probably FREEZING cold which is not good.
elevation of some sort is prefered.

humidity? genetics?

root aphids are round, crawling, can be seen wit your bare eye, but you need to be up close and personal with the soil, get a magnifying glass.

If you had tiny little red bugs crawling around the pot rims or just any where, those tiny round bugs are root aphid hatchlings.

look up root aphids man, they stress shit hardcore.

Just my :2cents:, but nanners aside, high O2 and low CO2 would only hurt growth/production.

Why would you not replenish CO2 via air exchange? :dunno:

I'm almost sure that I do not have root aphids, crop 2 I talked about that threw some hermies late in flower had no bugs when I took them down, the current crop has nothing in the soil I can see.

I planned on adding a co2 tank when I built the room, unforeseen events killed my extra cash so I went without planning on adding later. My a/c brings in air so I figured that would be ok for now, then turned it off due to the cold weather.

So you do have an intake in the form of the a/c correct? can it be run as a fan only?
I'm thinking they are C02 starved as well then, since it hasn't been running.

you said no intake, no exhaust and no co2????? This is bad.... You need fresh air exchange or Co2. you cant run a room sealed without one of these... Im sure it would work for awhile but not good IMO... If you live where is snows/cold do not run your exhaust lines out the wall/roof. Run it under the house.

Just a suggestion, but if you want, you can replace the door with a hollow core, el cheapo, piece-of-crap, interior door ($25-$50) and install some light-proof vents in it, at least until finances improve.

I've never heard of a sealed room without co2. most 5K ACs do not exchange air but just recirculate it in the room, but if they do exchange air, they will not if it is not running (Hammerhead).... no co2/fresh air=stress and I too am surprised there is no mold.:tiphat: GL.

There are no light leaks, no mold, no bugs at all that I can find, plants look healthy. Yes it was dumb not to add co2 when no fresh air was being brought into the room. Live and learn I guess. My AC's definitely exchange air. I plan on adding a mini split and co2 when I get back on my feet.

My veg room stays much hotter then my flower room. I'm starting to think the really cold days we've had along with the plants on the floor has kept them to cold.
I've never had to add heat to my rooms before but it has been really cold during the day as low as 30's and my lights come on at night it heats the room into the low 70's.

That would make since why my crop was fine then the last 2 had problems as it got colder and colder...

I appreciate all your help.

Why the fuck and how the fuck do female plants become so stressed that they create dick n balls and fuck themselves and everything around up?

That's very possible.. put a thermometer on the floor for an hour.

Exchange the air every 1 to 10 minutes with extraction fan(s) and an intake fan or passive intake.
I just used spare parts to help a bro and all it took to cool and add ambient levels of co2 in a 3000 w room was air cooled reflectors tied to a charcoal filter and a 6" fan and passive intake.
That will change as summer approaches.
But it will get him "on his feet."

its a survival mechanism. we are keeping them from doing what they were meant to do.

sucks though that's for sure. but live and learn. never thought id look forward to summer temps to grow in.

I have an update, While tearing down my room for an upgrade. I found what is most likely the cause of problems. A electrical power srtip had a red light on the side that I somehow missed. I cant believe I missed it. what a rookie mistake. Im ready to move past this. Cant wait till next round!!

Thanks for all the help
