Well I bought some lorex security cams for when I go away and was wondering if the infrared night vision will disrupt my girls while sleeping. Its not bright at all but you can see red. I don't think it will hurt them but want to be certain

I had a single amber led on a fan. They will see it. Green you can get away with any other color may cause buds or plants near it to reveg or hermaphrodite.

Myself I do not even want green in there during the dark hours even though people have done it without issues.

I'm not sure about infrared. But a small light leak, and I mean small, can cause hermi's. I know this from experience.

Infra red is a nightmare to play with. Trying to get a decent filter that actually blocks all but IR is hard. I got ripped off twice with expensive IR filters that were actually just deep red filters. You can buy IR lights, so with a genuine night vision system you should be ok, but if you can see the light with your eyes its not IR. If you want a geniune IR light to compare them to, then pick up your tv remote control, and look at it while pressing the buttons. Thats IR light. You can't see a thing. But if you point your camera at it and watch the screen while pressing buttons, you'll see the light shine. Pretty cool to see actually, but it only works on cameras that dont have IR protection on the ccd chips.
