I've started trying a small mound of Epsom salt under the dripper from the Blumat to try and take care of this. I don't understand why the plants seem to go into a variety of deficiencies rather than just staying in balance and wanting more food.
pH is lower with lower dose...make sure to adjust. Maybe def is causing lockouts? This is my first round of clones on these SSSDH, so I am not sure of their needs. Obviously she likes calcium, and is not a heavy feeder. Trying V+B on a strain I have had for years now, so I will know how she does.
With my water, the more V+B added, the lower the pH drops. But yes, I keep a pretty close eye on it. The pH also starts to drop again a few days after adjustment.
My PH has to be adjusted daily still .after mixing the PH is around 6.4 or lower with higher doses of V&B . but it has been back to 6.4 by the next day . i don't know if its a winter water source problem or if somethings changed in the V&B .... but chris says no . the only thing he says has changed is the dyes he's using .... so i dunno wtf is up with the PH fluctation .
Are you using a air stone / air pump to aerate your mix?
I've found that when doing so I get lots of pH rise as opposed to just tossing a water pump in the barrel to keep it stirred and create surface agitation.

Wow! that is strange, I adjust twice with each 35gal change out and it sticks at 5.8-5.9/1.9EC for two weeks on a flood and drain system.

I concur, 5.9 when I drop my V+B in, stays steady for dayz, it's when they are feeding big time that the pH rises, which is a good thing right! I'm rockin' 2.0EC on all strains now of week 1 and 2 and they suck it up. I think the 3rd and 4th weeks they need more water but am considering trying the pk everyone is recommending at the end of stretch.

is it just me or do dank veg+bloom nugs have a certain look of dankness to them?
edit: its like, i have seen dank nugs and i have seen healthy nugs. but healthy dank nugs have another aura about them.

Hmmm, hadn't given it a thought. When I get the feed into the "proper" range, they look very happy with life and that wasn't the case when I had RA a couple of years ago. There are no fliers visible or on sticky traps. I'm a couple weeks from harvest and will have to get a close look then - I plan on saving the roots anyhow.

Question for anybody running a rez of the V&B .... I'm trying to figure out whats going on here with mine . I clean & sterilize my rez everytime it gets empty cuz of a build up of something .... not sure what . I have eliminated everything from the rez except V&B & RO water .... i was running drip clean & occasionally Rhizo on the veg room rez . but have stopped all that to try & figure out whats causing my problem .... if it is indeed a problem .
ok ... i clean & sterilize the rez with hot water & then sterilize it with a clean rag with iso alcohol after its washed & then i let it set to evaporate all the alcohol . i refill the rez with the amount of V&B & RO to the EC levels i want & then adjust the PH with earth juice crystals PH adjusters .... I use the down cuz it usually after mixing comes out to 6.4 PH .
see .... a nice clean rez ... so much so you can see the pump & cord .... no airstones , no airators of any kind . the only mixing it gets is when i adjust the PH daily . cuz it NEEDS to be adjusted every day !!! within 24 hrs its back up to 6.4 again .... everyday .
by day 2 ... you can see the rez getting cloudy & it seems to need a touch more EJ down to get it in range again @ 5.8
by the 3rd day ... it looks like this .... & it takes almost twice as much EJ down to get it in range again .
Anybody have any idea WTF is going on with this ??? I have tried different PH adjusters , i stopped adding anything other than the V&B to the rez . its cleaned every time before its refilled including the pump , cuz i thought maybe the pump was holding some residue from it getting like that . every flower run , i clean all the lines & drippers even though its not recirc .
this has got me baffled !!! i don't see any problems with the plants ... so i doubt its affecting them in any harmfull way . I tried a pond clarifier .... nothing , have tried 3% peroxide.... same thing , nothing , it still gets like that . i thought maybe the coldness of the water from being winter was seperating the nutes some how or something ... so i added a 100 watt aquarium heater to each rez .... no change .... still getting the foam after 3 or 4 days .
is anybody else experiancing this ???? any ideas as to what my problems are ... including having to adjust the PH every freakin day ????
