Already into week 5, it is crazy how time flies by.

Yesterday was the last day of flush for the GC they will get nutes for 1 more week then I will start the final flush.

Got some pics with lights off to get a better idea of what they actually look like and I am really loving the colors :) minus the GC leaves

Thanks chuewy, I think the respect will do pretty good, it still has a month to fill in.

Got the new tent going today Purple Elephant and Headband. I went with less on this run to give the plants a little more breathing room. We will see how it goes. Honestly I am not too happy with these clones, but we will see how they perform. Still looking for a good hook on genetics, but I have a few prospects in mind.

Day 40 Respect

A little size comparison.

If these girls keep growing the way they are now for another 5 weeks I am going to need to tie up everything I thought was going to be larf.

And the Green Crack, which I was told was definitely not green crack when I called 3LB about the possible mix up. Sure looks like the other Green Crack / Cush pics on this site but who knows. I woke up one morning and noticed a few of them started leanin pretty hard so I flushed the cough syrup from the rez:biggrin: and tied them up to the screen that they never reached. Good thing I didn't take it out. out of all the problems I have come across in this journey, this one is by far the best! Nugs too big is a problem I always want to hit! Their final flush will start on the 28th, they should finish a week later but I expect a little delay in that because of previous issues.

In veg urs looked like the green crack i got that was mixed but now it looks totally different. My crack was finishing by 50 days an urs has all white hairs. Also urs has the blueberry leaf curl an mine didnt. I think you actually got the AB growin an i only had the mix up.

Thanks mwz, Still not fully out of the woods but I think I can manage the last few weeks and still get a decent yield for my first go.

I have terrible year round allergies so I can pretty much never smell anything but my room mate is saying that it smells like fruit or rotting fruit so it may actually be AB. I grabbed a magnifying glass to check for the perfect harvest date so time will tell. IIRC the AB is an 8 week finisher.

Headband? Nice find, where ya scoop her up from?

Friend of a friend had some of these that he was trying to find a good home for. Headband is one of my favorite hybrids, always nice greasy nugs and it makes great oil. I am going to keep a mother from those cuts just in case it turns out amazing :)

So the iPhone 5 has a setting that makes it easy to take blur free shots which is perfect for my shaky hands. here are some shots from the iPhone and I have some macros coming soon.

Around 5 weeks ago we popped a seed that was found in a bag of chronic from San Diego. My friend who saved the seed can't remember if it was sour dubble, northern lights, or Blackberry but those where the 3 strains we picked up that day.

She has been doing good in FFOF and happy frog and we decided to take a clone from her and get a little mother/clone area setup.

Setup before the clone

picture.php

Currently unknown strain, hopefully female, once the clones root we will start flowering this one to tell. There is a very strong spice smell when you rub the leaves.

Headband and Purple Elephant clones, the strongest of them will be kept as mothers.

The first attempt at cloning! Used JJScorpio's method, thanks.

All setup!

I hear that if you grow from seed it is best to get a 3rd generation clone and keep that as a mother because it will help to eliminate abnormalities in the cuttings, so I am going to try and do that if it is a female. If it is a male then I am going to put him in the isolation box and try to get some pollen just in case

It finally happened, the roots clogged the drain on the respect. I left for the day and came back to drowned plants. I rearranged some things and the problem won't happen again but I am hoping they recover, it seems other people who had this problem lost their plants. In hindsight maybe an 11 week strain wasn't the best choice for a first time grower, just leaves more time for problems to occur.

I have been checking the Green Crack? daily for signs of ambering trichs and today I spotted the first one. I hit a lot of problems so that may have slowed the development of trichs but if it goes to 8 weeks+ then I think I can be confident that it is AB Blue like I initially wanted. I just wish there were more pics of the absolute in flower to better compare mine.

Here they are at Day 48

Just went in there to check trichs with the lights off and all buds that I checked are showing some amber. At least one trich is fully amber and the stalks of some are looking a bit orange. I am thinking she will be ready tomorrow or the day after! Super excited to finally cut some plants. It looks almost exactly like the last panel in this picture

While pulling the plants I saw some eggs in the hydroton and on the rapid rooters. I spot treated them with hydrogen peroxide but those bugs where probably the problem with my girls all along.

Now I have everything I need to treat in veg so these problems won't show up in flower and my next round should go much better.

Not expecting too much from this probably like 7-14 grams a plant at most but I definitely yielded a lot of knowledge.

They are in the dark right now for 24 hours then I will chop them from their roots and hang them for a nice slow dry

Also now that they are all finished I think it might actually be the AB blue because of the nug colors. anybody growing Green Crack is welcome to throw in their 2 cents, I'll be sure to include trimmed nug shots as well.

Still have some kind of trouble as you can see from the leaves but the buds are still developing and getting bigger. I had to cull 2 that never bounced back from the drain getting clogged and I think the roots that had to get pulled belonged to them.... 3 more weeks I think I can make it.

The AB Blue is still hanging for a few more days.

I felt like the other half of the tent was a little too empty so I transplanted the bagseed into a 5 gallon and flipped her I have a feeling she is going to be a beast in there.

The harvest is complete for the AB blue. Total weight ended up being 134 g's mostly pretty small buds.

I can't be too upset because it was my first experience growing and the buds actually came out decent.

Smell: Very strong smell of berry funk that I can only see getting stronger with the cure.

Taste: The taste is somewhat lacking, you can definitely taste some fruitiness on the tongue and the aftertaste lingers for a while. It was extremely smooth.

Effect: I couldn't really get a good feel for this one because we only smoked it late at night so I am not sure if I was already tired or the weed is some knockout. But since I think I pulled her a little early I am leaning towards I was just sleepy I will try to give her a true test later and get back to you guys.

The drying happened in 65-40% RH and took 6 days. After trimming and jarring the RH in the jar is sittin pretty at 61% which should make for a nice cure.
