RESURRECTION

Hello everybody, I was gifted some plants last night so i thought i would throw up a thread.
Short story on the plants.
These belonged to a friend of mine that fell ill and could no longer take care of them, his wife called me and asked to take them out because they were dead.
when i went and looked at them they were shriveled up and dying fast, they had not been fed in over a week. I quickly gave them some tap water because thats all that was available, i didnt care what the ph or ppm was because they were bone dry, could not hurt anymore right? lol
So, a couple days later i arranged a spot and here they are.
It took me a day to set up a table for them, i had to do a lot of pinching and bending because these tables are intended for SOG with a limited ceiling height.
I set up a quick and simple top feed system that will feed every 6 hours for 5 minutes.
Nutes are going to be Maxi bloom at 1.0 ec at 5.8ph.
medium is straight perlite no amendments.
I did give them a bit of seaweed extract and a splash of superthrive.
Im pretty confident they will bounce back quickly, fingers crossed!
Oh, the strain is ICE from colorado mountains.
Some pics starting last night till mid afternoon today. flowewr started Saturday because the lights were already set for it at the other place.
Any questions or advice please post.

I'm strapped in for the show bro! They look fine, I've seen worse LOL, I'm sure your magic touch will have 'em rocking in no time. Have you put these gals into flower yet? Roll on the buds :D:D

HGO

PS I love your feed manifolds! Perfect for me. Do you drill holes into the manifold or put nipples in there?

Thanks fellas!
Awfully quite around here, i must not be cool enough huh? haha

HGO, on the manifolds, there are lots of ways to do em, but this pick is pretty straight forward. I like to drill 2 to 3-holes per side ( x4 ), usually every couple inches gives adequate feed dispersion.

Thanks for stopping in.

POINTER:
If you plan on making the manifolds you will want to drill holes in it according to pump size and feed line size.
For example, from the main 1/2" line you will run 1/4" feed line to the manifold which is also 1/2" ( PCV ) you will want to use 3/32" holes in the manifold. this will allow pressure to build in the manifold and distribute evenly.
to big a hole and the feed will not make it all the way around to the other side.

Doneit thanks for all the info on the manifolds, I just spent the day making up drippers for 6 trays, well it only took about an hour but your manifolds would make sure I get a good even coverage. Do you use drip clean bro?

I'm sure the thread will pick up soon bro, how they looking today?

Peace,
HGO

Any time man!

I dont use drip clean unless im using Flora Nova, with maxi its not needed.

They are looking much better, I cleared out most of the dead/dying growth and the rest is standing tall, new growth is starting to come on strong, nice thing about this feed system is it is perfect balance, the plants will have no choice but to be happy! lol

thanks for stoppen

yeah I love the manifold idea as iwas struggling with getting even distribution through the pots on the last run so I got some t pieces to get me by until I get a bigger pump

what size pump you using mate?

Thanks guys!
RIL, the pump is a 1650gph sump pump from lowes, love em, i have had em for 10yrs or so, never had one fail.
I have used em for small grows feeding only a few plants, to very large grows feeding up to 100 off one pump. I would rather have to large than to small, just put a valve on it if its to big, besides, you cant beat it for 60-70 dollars.

Another pointer i would like to make on the manifolds, DO NOT glue them together, you want to be able to take them apart, or put them together AROUND the plant if it is to big for the manifold to fit over the top of it.

I personally have never seen better root development since these manifolds. the roots will grow right out the top of the container, you will almost have to cut the container off because the roots are so packed.

Hopefully i will be able to show ya in say, 7.2 weeks?! lol

Man, I love the idea of feed lines. I setup like 6 4x4 tables last summer, feed lines, DTW.. Lasted for about 3 weeks until I scrapped it and went back to hand watering. In my case, running so many different strains it was difficult to dial this in. But honestly, ur manifolds are making me want to do this again.. But I'll have to monocrop under each light for it to work effectively. I'm tired of going into my rooms and finding huge holes in the soil cus the gardeners aren't watering evenly.. Although I understand, it's a fucking gymnastics feat to get in and water each time. Man I dreeeeeam about what even water distribution will do to me! Lol.

And good tip on the 'not glueing PVC' ... Lol, that's something I woulda literally done.. Get it all together, then b like "fuck... How do I get this over the plant"

:-D

CDM,
Thanks for the reply!

I know all to well about trying to run multiple strains, it can surely be a pain in the arse!
If i can, i try and keep one strain per light, however i do find that foliaring certain nutes and using just a base for all on multiple strain runs will help alot.

Auto feed is the only way to fly once you figure it out, it can be tricky at times but well worth the time to sort it out.
As with all aspects of growing i find that " patience " is the most important one!

I would be happy to try and give you pointers if you decide to try it again, keeping it basic and simple is truly the best way.
