Feeding Schedule App?

O

OrganicOzarks

So I have more than 1 room going on, and I have been using a spread sheet to keep things straight. Wondering what others are doing to keep things straight? I have looked at some app's, but they seemed geared toward the Hydro guys. So I settled on just making a spread sheet. An app wouldn't be that hard to make for organics. Surely someone else has had the same thought?

I use my eyeballs and my brain hole. I've tried "schedules", but my plants didn't like them very much. Then again, I run a new strain just about every round, and my garden is small.

I think it's much more important to keep track of what you've done than try to predict what you should do a week + into the future. Once you've got a log of what you've done in the past, and some quick notes about how the plants responded, you can refer back to it.

I am running 4 rooms, and I smoke pot. That being said without a schedule some shit gets forgotten.:)

I too would like to see a nice spreadsheet to help me keep track. I've looked at a few apps online but they were not really what I wanted.

I use a cheap pocket calendar to write notes in, helps me keep track of finishing times. Especially if Im still figuring out the best time to harvest a particular plant.

I use my calendar program on my mac. I write out a whole grow before i get into it and include things like: a weekly IPM set for each week, in what stage, and when I plan to flip into flower, foliar feedings, and estimated water times. The watering times never seem to be on time. I also add observations into the "events" along the way. It works pretty well, and can be a crop saver if you need to go back and figure stuff out, especially when trying new things. What are you feeding? I like for my soil to have everything already in it so all I need to do as add the icing to finish the cake. Beyond that I play it by ear. If they look like they need something I check parameters and make an informed decision. There are so many factors to consider when making a program, I think it would be hard to get it right. It would basically have to be just a model and you fill in the blanks as you go. Pretty much like the feeding schedules they have for every bottled nute around these days. This is also why they have different levels of experience to try. novice, intermediate, Pro blah blah blah because if you dont know wtf is going on you are bound to burn something. lol mostly just suggestions with time frames and plant cycles, with a disclaimer...Im interested to see what you come up with..

Dark ages over here - I look at my plants the day before I know they will be needing watering, and I mix together & bubble whatever the plants tell me they want ( ;) ).

Otherwise by default the entire garden is watered the same thing every time.

I do something similar. I do have the major nutrients in the soil, but with the application of foliars, IPM, and compost tea it makes senses to use something to keep things organized. Especially when you have multiple rooms. My spread sheet is fluid, and changes along the way, but it does make things much less stressful. Since I have been using it my growing has been much better.

I fought it for a long time. I thought I could just go with the flow, and look and see what things need. When you run a strain a few times though you can "know" what it will need when. Then you don't have to look and see to much. It is like factory work at some point.

Isn't that where all of this marijuana legalization will end up any how? Just another crop to farm that you hire cheap labor to break their backs so that you can squeeze out the slightest of livings. Gotta love America.:)

Hehe how's it goin fatherearth - default waterings / foliars have become:

(H2O + K2SiO3) + Fulvic + aloe + sprouted seed tea

Weekly or biweekly the fulvic is switched out for a humic acid / trace minerals product.

ACT is made biweekly.

A botanical tea is made weekly (usually).

Each room and/or stage of plants can then be given the same application or varying levels of dilution / concentration based on my observations of the plants requirements of said inputs.

That's it, nothin much to it...the heavy feeding is had through the soil.

What is your sprouted seed tea, can I ask? And the botanical tea? I love my compost teas :)

Sprouted seed enzyme tea is CC's recipe.

I'll sprout 1/4 cup seed (usually barley or clover, alfalfa, fenugreek) then soak sprouts in 1 gal. water for ~48 hrs. Dilute this concentrate @ a rate of 1 Cup per gal water....

....try it, let us know how ya like it!

Botanical teas are outlined in detail in the thread here titled 'botanicals'.

Yup. That's my strategy. I check on my garden daily, and try to determine what they want. If I'm in a hurry or unsure, they just get water.
