Game Theory's first DIY UC system

Yeah that's been a general consensus with a lot of good growers, no need for humidity control. I actually have a whole house humidity unit with set controls in my living room. I Just need to get a digital thermostat to see if the humidity can actually be set to 70-60-50 etc. And how accurate it will stay.

Flower Farmer was saying earlier that the plants give off enough humidity anyways and just run a humidifier last 3 weeks of bloom. obviously makes sense for rotting..

I do need to look into a speed step controller. I just want something that simple stupid. literally turns on when it needs too and off when it needs to. I want to run my fan with and exchange of 2x per minuet. so quiet often but I wont need a massive fan.. my rooms only 12x8 where the ladies actually rest.

I'm running a 8 - 12 pot Ebb and Flow (just flood and drain) So i'll just be using a humidifier in the late stages of flowering, no C02 but I've seen bomb results without it. I'll probably run 1" 1/4 for my piping too because I think the regular CAP system only comes with 3/4" line. I've completely renovated my room and looking forward to my first full hyrdo.. just 4X4 grow block with hydroton flood & drain. Usually I run coco with blumats so this is going to be quiet a change!

Im using vitalink nutrients which are quite cheap.

Ive posted pics in the previous pages of the reservoir.

Nice looking setup you have there. As for nutes, what is your reason for going such a high ec? Thats WAY high IME. Just curious..

Ive noticed with previous strains the plants flourish with an ec of 1.6 also they rarely ask for more nutrients.

Im beginning to understand why many growers are picky with their choice of nutrients, each res change requires at least 430ml of nutrients A+B.

Today was the end of the 8th week of veg.

The 400w mh bulbs have been switched for 600w hps bulbs & the 12/12 has begun.

Thought Id take a few pics of the roots of both plants.

Im considering using amino acids in the future so if any of you have an experience please share your knowledge.

Well at CultureCurrent, they advocate only doing a res change when you change over from veg to flower in their UC systems. Maybe you could try that and save some $$.

But yea, nutes are expensive when you have to keep changing the res.

Super nice looking roots by the way, happy growing!

Wk 2 of flower

The plants are beginning to stretch & the fan leaves are growing too big to the extent where they are covering the shoots.
Ill tear away the fan leaves at the end of the stretching period & most likely pinch & bend for a more even canopy.

The NYCD is performing quite well despite simple feedings.
I hear the colas grow long & tall so Im really excited to see that.

A few pics on the progress, sorry about the lighting.

Just did a res change today at the start of wk 3 of flower.

There still in stretch mode, hopefully next wk ill be able to strip away some of the larger fan leaves.

EC is still at 1.6 with no leaf tip burn although the plants arenot asking for more nutes so I wont give them a higher dosage.

Also Ive decided to allow the PH to drift from 5.6 to 6.2 to ensure better uptake.

The leaves at the very top were turning a pale green, it seems like a mild case of light bleaching so had to raise the reflectors good thing Ive got plenty of head room.

Yeah that was my initial feeling aswell, im beginning to ask myself if this strain really is a 10 weeker.
I hope I havnt caused them to go into shock by tearing away the fan leaves a couple of weeks ago. Time will tell.

Have you checked for light leaks? I personally just found out my Blue Lab Guardian was filling my small cab with enough green light to illuminate it's surrounding well enough to where i could visibly see all my plants. :/

Might not have been my problem, but I didn't see flowers until I turned it off during lights off.

green light is ok on meters. red light or anything else on the other hand will mess things right up. Plants do n0t respond to the green spectrum of lighting.

they look super bushy & leafy at this point, i doubt de-leafing would slow you down this much...... perhaps we will see them finish in 10 weeks.... im guessing longer.

GT, i like your setup, nice roots, nice plants.... can't wait to see some flowers form for you!!!!

While that may be true P , a green lense covering with a "white" led bulb behind it will indeed retard budset if in fact it`s bright enough as GT said in that he can see all his plants with it on........especially since it runs 24/7 , and not only that.......

GT.....Watch for nutsacks and nanners spittin , cuz environmental stress will most definitely expose inherent hermaphroditic tendencies built into EVERY strain genetically for preservation of the species.......hopefully not though.......anyways....

The green eye tasklights , and the green bulb led headlamps are ok to inspect and work shit durin lights off for a lil while , but to leave ANY light on inside the grow area during lights off REGARDLESS of color spectrum is askin for an accident waitin ta happen ......

No light leaks period....and any indicator light on any environmental equipment inside the grow area either needs disabled , or taped over so it stays fuckin dark in the artificial surroundings you create tryin to fool mother nature with.......

Fuck with her inside or out and them bitches will start spittin nanners I don`t give a shit how stable the strain is.....and....light leaks is the # 1 culprit.....aight......

Nuff outta me.............

Peace....DHF......:ying:......

There are no light leaks guaranteed.

Thanks Avinash, Im still learning how to take better pics despite the dull shots. Hopefully the sight of flowers will brighten this thread up.
