So i just chopped down on of my girls the other day and I must admit, its one of my best looking ones to date. I checked on the drying process today and noticed as some of the buds are receeding ive noticed a few male bananas on a few of them. Im talking maybe 1 or 2 on a few colas. ive pulled the ones ive found off, but i was curious if theres anything i can do, or what should i do? they hadnt burst yet, and from what i can tell, i dont see any seed pods.

thanks for your help!

Well when i decided to check out everything hanging I found what I think to be an undeveloped seed pod, but I'm not sure. The Nanas I did pull off that burst in my hand definetely contained pollen. Very small and not clustered at all. Baffled as to how I got them

my dry box is in my flowering room, which is also my veg room....just a small 2 plant grow. I do have one other girl about a week away from chop time in the same room. the dry box is pretty well sealed, but does have a few leaks....like when i just opened it to discover the bananas.

The downside is you need to find out where they came from.

Is the strain prone to that? Did you have a pinhole light leak somewhere? Did your temps get out of control a bit?

The issue I see is that a lot of folks have big issues with pollen in bud. If you're cutting before the pods are opening that's better than them being open... still not good.

I'd make dang sure you know where they're coming from. If it's the strain, I'd dump it for something else the first chance I got.

they got this stuff called Dutch Master Gold Reverse, and it is female hormones(you need to where gloves or you will grow titts) and you spray once a day during the second and third week of flower and you will have no male flowers. i havent used it but the guy at my hydro shop has it and says he has people who use it that has had herms and they dont any more. just something to check into if you dont want to restart from seed or get clones from somewere.

It's cheaper in the long run to get a better strain or find out 'why' the strain you're running hermied.

Le$$ $$ and a whole lot le$$ time worrying/thinking about it.

Preventing/Chucking is worth the time... every time.

i agree, i just had to through out some BOG lifesaver and Moscra Negra TSI fly because of bananas, i thought about using it but ended up not, i seriously thought about it a $30 bottle would last years. high quality tools are the way to go i learned my lesson on cheap tools, they cost you more money and headache in the long run.

hi thewhitelotus, i would agree with the others, one week until harvest and it dosnt matter if your plant gets pollinated. The olny thing you have to mention is to clean your room more intense after drying.

and by the way, someone sad his blueberry got some bananas, Someone wanted to use hormones...
You really want to buy fem seeds and than spray hormones to be sure to get only females? :D The fem seeds were produced by using male hormones to female plants, and you want wo use that seeds and spray female hormones... in my opinion thats out of scale - nothing high tec.

There are some fem seed strains with simply have hermi behaviour - like blueberry fem - there is noo need for a factor for hemi - the seeds are simply hermi. If you want so grow blueberry use reg seeds select a female and you will stay safer as if would be possible with fem seeds or hormones.

But are running only 2 plants, so be sure to buy proved well selected fem genetics. But as sad if the bananas are rare and olny near harvest there will be no problems.
