After a considerable amount of reading, a friend will be running two 4x4 tents, vert scrogs. One is 800w MH stacked, the other is 600hps. Both employ cool tubes (it gets hot here). Coco, blumats, H3ad 6/9. Cherry Fuel (petrol OG x buddhas sis), and Dream n Sour (Sourjack x blue dream) are the genetics. This is just background info, not a grow log introduction. I wanna know about the baby shit that makes the difference. When to flip to 12/12, presoak coco in insecticide, defoliation, early training, preventative bug bombing, plant numbers etc. I would love to hear some simple advice from the likes of Marlo, hgo, dhf and anyone else with experience ( I have none). Sorry if this thread doesn't belong here, I just wanted the right audience.

I would recommend ditching the cool tubes, and turning each tent into a cool tube of its own. I think DHF recommends complete air replacement 3x per minute. The glass steals lumens and is just a pain in the ass in general

you want some poo poo buds?...

baby shit!!!... dilute with water 1/10 ratio... strain through some type of mesh and apply as a foliar directly to your buds 2 times a week, it makes all the difference... report back with your results!!! :bigeye:

The answers to these, and all of the other questions are here. My advise to you is to read 'till your eyes bleed. Then read some more. Find some other folks doing what you want to do and follow along. Learn a bit from their experiences.

Another piece of advice is to click on DHF's username, and click on "find more posts", then read them all. He spends a lot of time on here repeating the "rules" he learned in the field.

If you have a specific question, ask away. You'll probably get an answer.

Good luck, and stay safe

Remove fans if they're blocking light from hitting budsites behind it. Though maybe not as important in a v-scrog as with trees. Just because trees can be grown successfully without pruning doesn't mean they couldn't have better bud quality and yield with pruning.

True famari and you might be right as SourGorilla's runnin' tents. On the plus it's vert for penetration and I'd sneak in some Orca film too if I could to help reflect far side light. Early on I wanted tents, then decided to partition the room, then decided to just use the whole room (didn't lose much space I thought I needed).

Control you temp (maintain as close as possible to 75-78 deg F w/o co2 and 78-85 with co2) and humidity (50-70% in veg and during the first 3 weeks of flower. 50% or below for the remainder of flower). These recomendations are for both lights on and off, and is one of the most important parts of dialing a grow. IF you have to use cool tubes to maintain these parameters at canopy level, DO IT. Enviroment should come second to nothing. That said everything you could possibly ever want to know about growing can be found somewhere on this website. As someone else recommended, read every post DHF has laid down and you will be well on your way. Also click the ratings button at the top of every forum and read all the 5 star threads.

Advice for starting? Don't fall into the Nutrient propaganda machine, bud boosters and so on....Get a good one part preferably not a cannabis specific nutrient...Jack's pro, Dynagro and so on. I use Floranova one part and it's pretty good but will be switching to Dynagro soon. I wish somebody beat that into my head when I started. Wasted tonnes of $ and always burned my plants.....also get a ppm meter and don't follow the bottles recommendations. That also screwed me over

Hey I can't blame you sheik. With AN and other nute companies beating their propaganda into your head as well as some of their sheeples gotta weed out all that crabgrass from your lawn. ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Cool tubes aren't going anywhere until Fall, it is hot as shit here and summer is creepin up. Rockin central and window AC already... Gonna work on getting the temp swings in the appropriate range, but humidity is gonna be a bitch in a couple months. I'm subtropical coastal FYI. Nutrients aren't gonna get out of hand. RO water with 6/9 and Epsom if needed. I wish the room could just get sealed and run barebulb, but that isn't in the cards right now. Beans are just starting to poke through their coco, I plan to LST early before sexing and cloning. Still tying to figure out the time schedule with all of that initial stuff, but I guess experience is the best educator.

From what I've seen, the biggest mistake new growers make is that they try to "grow" the plants. We don't "grow" them, we just provide them an environment in which to thrive. They grow themselves.

Just remember, genetics + environment = success.
