Im sure there MAY be one of these floating around the forums, but I havent been able to find it SO, im putting this up for anyone interested in finding out how much extra they are going to be paying for electrical service when using lights. Im stoked to find out that to have my supplimental lighting going 3 hours in the morning and 4 hours at night will only cost me $21 a month. WELL worth it considering after harvest, ill be saving at least $50 a week, if not more.......

Happy Growing ya'll

I am 86$ just for two 600's. That is before you account for 2nd and 3rd tear pricing. Living in the Bay Area in California costs big bucks.

Edit: my cost starts at 20 cents a kilowatt hour.

KW= (AmpsxVoltsx1.732)/1000 Multiplly that KW figure x the number of hours per day and you have KWH...... Multiply that x your utility rate and there you go.

I use this to figure usage on large building fixtures and equipment all the time........

That 1.732 multiplier should only be in there for 3-phase loads.

Damn it! You are right.... Comes out of me like water out of a faucet. Catch myself on that at work every once in a while. I actually have built some pretty extensive consumption and savings calculators for grocery stores and they have two subsheets. one for 3phase and one for single phase loads.

Ha Ha! Thanks for catching that.

It's like 240v when I am working on residential. I can't quit saying 208v....... I know what I am working with in either realm, but I would tell you I was going to run a new 208v circuit in my garage! Knowing all along that it was 240v. I just live in the world of mostly 208/230/460-480v 3ph. Lots of low voltage 24v and 0-10v contol as well.

It's a far more interesting world than single-phase.....
