A hop pellet Machine which there has to be many in the Willamette valley, might work to make your Pellets CC.

Why do you need pellets? Kelp meal does just fine commercially, alfalfa meal the same' comfrey crumbles up easy when dry. A dry mix would not stink in a short soak tea either. It would break down faster in soil too.

Cover them with water for a month or two and they are fermented plant extracts.

Soak ,dilute and spray for bugs and pm.

I guess a third of each? All three are go to ferts for veg or flower, I would not see any reason to have the mix lean veg or flower unless you want to sell twice as much.....scrappy

Ive got a tea bubbling atm, 2 table spoons kelp meal 2 table spoons organic alfalfa meal and 2 table spoons comfrey powder.. I might buy some of those pellets, coot. But untill I run out of the stuff I got Im happy to make my own.. and at least I know what percentages of each item im using, using separate items

@ scrappy check my kelp out.. http://thenaturalgardener.co.uk/seaweed_granules.php aint getting no more natural than this stuff.. still has the salt on from the water it's harvested from.. I have to rinse it off before use...

Sorry for the confusion - I don't want to make or even use pellets. I was trying to say that if a person could import the different pellets sold in England that there is a large enough market for products like this to make some serious money. Get that into into a 25# pack, bagged & sleeved, throw an artsy-fartsy label on it and starting writing orders.

If you just had western Washington, Oregon and some of Northern California you could make it work. No problem. You would also have sales to horse, llama, goat owners and even smaller organic poultry operations.

Of course you would want to join forces with Mr. Veganics and his minions - low-hanging fruit indeed.

I had my doubts at first about the recycled soil... I gave it a try and I must say the beds with the reused soil are doing the best. The soil mites are really amazing, I will be sure and have them in every grow.

400 gallon and 65 gallon
If I had the room it would have been all 400gal. Those pots did the best and require much less attention.

Loved the video on that Fukuoka link CC. I have One Straw and this looks excellent. My land is like a desert in the summer.

Nice looking garden man...I have to ask if you are running your own organic living soil,if so what's the recipe,or is this a bagged brand? What are you using as a food source? Any sprays or additions to the recycled soil....do tell how this was accomplised for the good people. We need more good examples of good results in larger recycled organic living soil gardens where we rely on the soil not ph meters or bottles of stuff....like yours here....right?

Yea stan , its my own mix. Actually cant claim it as my own, a close friend who showed me the way, its his recipe. The same mix as I use outdoors. Stuff that came out of a container: ag sil 16h, protekt sillicate, Ful Power, Pure protein dry 15-1-1, Therm x-70 yucca extract(surfactant), calcium 25, , all those used in foliar feeding. Still except for the Protekt not anything I can find at any hydro/grow store around here(PDX) . I was basically shooting to bring the outdoors inside for the winter to get some practice for this years outdoor summer run. Everything in my soil mix you can get at Concentrates minus the compost. Ill go into the soil mix in a bit, I have had a few requests to see the show so I may just make a thread, as this one is quite full.

Good call there! Always avoid their compost especially the Marwest and Vital Earth brands.

Ah what the heck - add Yelm's worm castings to the list as well......

There is some good news on the humus deal in Oregon - Worm Power now has a distributor in Salem. The pack size is 20 quarts for $12.99 = $19.50 per cubic foot.

Mrs. Cootz picked-up 2 bags for us yesterday and it is definitely head & shoulders above any bagged EWC that I've seen and it's at a fair price. Correctly dried & cured and no sticks, rocks, etc. just pure vermicompost.

Marwest has a EWC product sold under their GroundUp label and it costs $33.00 per c.f. - you should leave that one on the shelf as well
