Penguin's Micro Grow III- White Rhino

Cheers for the chart bruz :tiphat:

To my eye it looks like a definite case of nitrogen deficiency. The yellowing is affecting only leaves on the lower nodes and it's working its way up. I'm not sure whether I should be upping the synthetic nutes though? What do you suggest?

I think I might be ok with the magnesium deficiency that I saw earlier. It looks to be affecting only one or two leaves on Vesper only and hasn't recurred anywhere else on the plant so I think I'm lucky there. Probably just a hotspot in the soil.

@ PEN: Looks Fantastic Brotherman!!!! Nice job on the FIM she really took a liking to it These are some beautiful young ladies you have in flower and the stretch has been nice and minimum. Doing a stellar job man keep up the amazing work. You got your self a fan

-NE_G978-

Thanks for the kind words NE_GROWER Much respect! :thank you:

You're right man, the stretch has been very minimal in the tent so far. From the last couple of runs in this tent, I've worked out that I would never go over 6 weeks of veg from seed. Next run I might go 4 weeks veg and FIM all growing tips like you suggested earlier. Will be a lot easier to control and would max out yield for sure :dance013:

Hey Brother,

looking really good, If you want to know if you are over feeding, flush the plants over a bucket to catch the run off and check it with a ppm meter, and check the ph it wouldnt hurt. But if you ask me I think you are doing well Plants look good. As you move further into flowering you will find that your fan leaves will be gradually fading to yellow. The leaf structure will look okay, however the colour will change.

Peace

Thanks mate, I really need to find my old ph meter and give the water a good testing sounds like. Cheers for the flushing tip!

It's weird cos my last batch of organic soil was flawless the whole way through so I had no need to worry about ph. I wonder why this new batch of ingredients is giving me so many headaches!? I get that it's normal for a plant to yellow off late in flower but I'm a bit worried that it's happening so early at day 21 :yoinks:

End of Flowering Week 3 (Day 21 12/12)

End of Flowering Week 3 (Day 21 12/12)

Well folks, I'm happy to report that the girls are looking great at the end of week 3!

I'm amazed by the amount of trichomes already present on these girls. So much more resin than where the AIs were at this time in the last run. These two are looking to be two frosty ladies :canabis:

Great pics! Healthy plants.

I take it the yellowing is due to the N being used up?

Are you hoping that the leaves leach any remaining goodness into your soil?

I know you have decent airflow, but watch that dead, wet plant matter - could be a disaster in the making ie. mold, mildew, fungus.

Hey WG, thanks for the nice words brother, glad you like these two girls!

I've just been stashing the dead leaves in the corner out of laziness mostly but it's also acting as a kind of mulch I guess. Thanks for the mold tip too, I'll make sure to keep an eye on my humidity levels so things don't get out of hand.

Welcome aboard opiumo! Thanks for having a read of the thread buddy :artist:

Day 33 12/12

Day 33 12/12

Hi folks,

Almost the start of week six and things are getting pretty frosty in the tent! The stretch is over and I have quite a few towering colas to contend with now.

I'm pleased to report that my deficiency problems seem to have subsided. There's still some minor yellowing of older growth on these two girls but I'm not too worried about it as we're heading into the later stages of flowering now.

Now for some pics:

About 15 or so heads on each girl after careful LST
This LST method allows for equal light penetration on these colas and eliminates any potential popcorn budsites

Looking real good there mate :good:
Vesper is definitely the phatter pheno of the 2 girls and that whole plant shot gives the impression that it seems to be natural senescence of the bottom leaves now mate, maybe a little bit too much yellow but who knows I've never grown AI before :dunno:
In the home stretch now brother and won't be long till harvest :D

Cheers for the encouragement b00m! :thank you: I'm pretty happy with how things are ticking along overall. You and I can just watch them fatten and frost up for these last couple of weeks now :jump:

About the yellowing, I think you're right mate, probably a bit too much going on for my liking too. I've given up trying to correct the problem though lol. At this point I'm just hoping I can keep these girls going until the chop. I can't wait to switch back to my original soil mix for the next run and cut out all these problems I've been having

Nice pics the colas look like they are going to turn out nice.

Nice to see you Bueno Time! Those huge colas at the back are gonna be super tasty I'm betting. I love the point when you start to see trichomes form on the undersides of the leaves!!! Such sugary goodness :canabis:....but you'd know all about that that's for sure.

Beautiful work!

Cheers for taking a look at the grow log Javadog :tiphat: You're very welcome to stick around for the end of the show buddy!

looking good there cant wait to see the chop

You and me both brother! They say this strain finishes up at day 59. The earliest I would chop would be the middle of week 8 at day 52 but I think they will probably need the full 59 days at this stage. I really want some killer smoke off this run. :rasta:

Nice grow so far! A few more weeks, waiting is the worst part!

Thanks for stopping by ThaMagnificent. You're completely right there mate, I'm chomping at the bit to cut these girls down! They're slowly yellowing up as the days roll on but I think it will be perfect timing for when they need to come down. Should make for some pretty tasty buds.

Nice grow so far! A few more weeks, waiting is the worst part!

LOL....and then there is the cure.

I have to admit that I was surprised by it when I finished my first
serious grow. (full disclosure: very recently ;0) What a laugh.
I have ten half gallon jars full of frosty loveliness that are curing.

...not that I have not been enjoying the cruft while I wait.

Panguin I am really please to be so welcomed here.

I am very well established in other cultivation circles, but had
not fallen in with a grow group beyond my little gang at myco-tek.

I do hope to keep the spirit alive....until I have more to share.

Take care,

JD

You are most welcome JD! I'm very pleased to hear that you have that first grow under your belt and have some sweet home grown herb to toke on :dance013:

What can you tell us about mycology?

Hi friends,

Well I finally got a chance to take a couple of snaps of the tent so here's the next update. It's the start of week 8 and I'm chomping at the bit to sample these ladies!

Hi GP73LPC! Glad to have you on board buddy. Funny you should mention the smell as it's only been in the past week that the girls have developed quite a pungent aroma after not having any smell for the first 7 weeks of flower. I would describe the aroma as candy sweet with hints of hash. Should make for one tasty lady mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Let's get to the pictures:

I switched the girls to plain water about 2 weeks ago and I'm debating giving them exactly one more week before the chop. I will probably chop at 59 days (8½ weeks).

I have a few more photos to add so I will share those in the next couple of days. Any tips/suggestions are more than welcome.

LOL, I took so long to write this that I missed the update.

Great work Penguin! Very frosty, and looking to pile up further.

Very good photo work to boot.

Take care,

JD

P.S. Now for my now oddly timed response... :0)

(In reference to your question regarding mycology)

Well Penguin, it prepared me in that it also requires a great deal of patience....more
in many circumstances (some blocks take as long as a year to become fruitable).

The main difference is probably the issue of contamination and maintaining sterile conditions.

The are very similar in the pleasure of success. Getting a rare Mexicanae to give you
a spore print is very satisfying. ...but so is watching beautiful stinky buds swell.

LOL! It is all good, as they say.

Take care,

JD

P.S. Just for fun....The "Philosopher Stone" producing Psilocybe Galindoi (ATL7):

Woot! I think we're going to harvest at about the same time, my fine feathered friend. Like you, I love the sugar on the bottoms of the leaves, and the swelling calyxes as well. And DAMN JD that sounds like a demanding hobby! I had a bad experience in college with the cops while under the effects of some amazing shrooms and it sort of ruined it for me moving forward. I still have mini panic attacks at night when I see police car lights. =(
