T8 Fire Hazard for U-Bend Fluorescents

I narrowly escaped burning my house down today. I had a fire in the grow cabinet that I believe was due to arcing between tube connections.

If you are running tube fluorescents make sure you have the tube connections perpendicular to the plane of the lid so that the tubes are well-seated at all times.

You don't want this to happen to you.

I am done with cabinet growing. The air filter system hid the smell until it developed into a major league problem.

Holy crap, what a close call.
A fire could have had such a devestating impact on your life.
This is the shit that makes a man religious.

It does seem as a tight fit, better to run fewer but higher, I guess.
Scary that ventilation concealed the fire and even could have helped it burst, because of continious oxygen supply.
Thanks for sharing.
Understandable if you need to rethink your grow.
