That looks almost identical to some bag seed that I grew back in the early 90's. Big tiger striped seeds. Had a chocolate coco taste. Good luck man.

Hey hash cat stop eating the leaves of my plant! (thats what I said today)

My uncle (ass fucking cocksmoker he may be...) had some old beans from the early 70's as well. A couple germed but he killed them (because he's a polesmoking jackhole...) and didn't listen to me.

Point is... Beans can sprout a long time if taken care of properly!

Bear - you seem alright by me. If your story is bunk, it's a good one! If it's true, more power to you! Pissyke can get bent - too many negative people in the world today.

Preservation in whatever form is available is a must.
...if it turns out good. Please try all individuals, even if the first is not special.

This is a very compelling story, and I will be following with interest. Hoping you have great success. I have a good feeling about it since these seeds were specifically saved, and related possibly to a specific event. I remember how old strains were in association with specific experiences. That is just how my brain works.

I grew out some very old seed once that had that smell and it was bad. However, it had very thin leaves from the very start. Those seeds were found in a dual set album cover that had not been opened in a long time.

I smoked lots of good Columbian back in the 1970s, and lots of bad. A lot of the bad had the smell that you describe, but I remember at least one with that aroma that you describe that was very good.

I also smelled that aroma on a trip to Cancun Mexico. I was driving east between Chichen Itza and Merida to see authentic Mexican towns and a city. As I drove through one of the very small rural villages, there were a lot of Mexican Police with machine guns. I think they were collecting and\or burning a large number of plants because it reeked of that aroma. That whole scene made me nervous, but it was fascinating also!

Good Luck!

i remember turning on my first wife to weed years and years ago.

after the initial night of enjoyment we went on to smoke daily for years until we divorced.

Your plant(s) look very Colombian my friend.

yeah that makes sense. Im growing Ace Panama, which has columbian punto rojo in its lineage, and Cannabiogen Destroyer, which is Thai x (Early Mexican x Columbian). You think the GD looks South American as well? I really dont have enough experience to tell.

for sure, the only seeded marijuana that was ever consumed at a dead concert ended up with Chemdawg. Nobody's making you read this thread or grow free seeds at my risk. :spank:

Of course not, nobody's making me read this thread. But if I were the OP of an interesting thread I would not treat those who disagree with me as trolls. Is disagreeing the same as trolling? I don't think so.

Regarding the Grateful Dead, well, you're obviously not being very honest about this. If we go back to your very first comment, you said literally "any idea what this means?" referring to London GD 1972. So now you're defending something (a Dead gig in 72) you had not figured out before starting the thread? As far as we can read, you did not even know those seeds were from a concert, GD could have meant Great Depression, Gaussian Distribution, Graves Disease...but now you swear by this Grateful Dead gig.

Besides, germinating only one very old seed and being successful is like winning the lottery: VERY UNLIKELY.

Call me a troll if you like, but this story is suspicious to say the least, and i've been respectful and polite.

Yes sir it looks very much like Colombian and around 72 is when the really good Colombian was being imported. Its really hard to tell for sure but you have a sativa no doubt. Very nice!

Peace from Colombia!
