Will this work?

Making do with what I have on hand:

2L Erlenmeyer flask
Hexane(I know, but I can't find butane here)
Trim
Strainer
Coffee filter
Glass dishx2

The plan:
Put plant material in flask, then add cold hexane to the mix, give it a good swirl for 1 minute then pour through the coffee filter/strainer into a glass dish. Put glass dish into a larger glass dish of hot water and wait for the magic to happen. Pop bubbles, scrape with razer and package

Would this work? I want to make a proper product and use my trim for good.

I'm ignorant about this, but I don't want to hurt anyone nor myself.

1 minute isn't long enough soak and there are no particular advantages to a quick wash using a non polar solvent like Hexane. You can soak as long as it takes to dissolve the trichomes and I have used up to 12 hours.

Magic won't happen very fast with hexane sitting in a dish of hot water, so I would suggest more heat or pouring it in a pie plate blowing air over it to speed it up.

Hexane is also more difficult to purge completely than the shorter molecules like butane, so we use a couple ethanol washes to help remove the last bit.

Would you suggest acetone instead of hexane?

So after I get the hexane* evaporated, I then add some ethanol 95% and evaporate that twice?

*If acetone isn't a better choice.

sifting uses no chemicals, you probally don't get as much but its petro chem free

Yes on adding the ethanol twice.

I prefer hexane, but acetone is easier to purge.

Ok the questions I forgot to put in Gray Wolf since you seem to know this very well:

How long should it sit in the hexane?

What temp should it be or where should I place it? Warm water bath, fridge, freezer or just sitting somewhere with no sparks or heating elements nearby?

Finally I'm this much closer to using(getting productively rid of) a kilo of trim!
