What should a 98 year old eat?

most people that are 98 eat dirt......
Wow dude, I thought I had formed an opinion of you from other posts I have seen...but this showed a different side--
So...do you club seals...or do you go Clubbing in Seal Beach??

I did some work in a house, shooting texture and painting...and this 99 year old lady lived there-- (I was hired by her daughter)
So it is about 4:45 PM, and she mentions it is getting kind of late...so I told her I just had to finish up some things, and I would be done--
She told me that she didn't care how late I worked, but I had plastic covering her refrigerator...and at 5:00 everyday, she has a Long Island Ice Tea, and needed to get in her fridge!!
Never unwrapped a fridge so fast in my life!!

Time to defrost that dinosaur meat he's been saving. Might even crack a couple of the Dodo bird eggs that are nestled in the pantry.
Just a joke. No disrespect intended.
Maybe grab a food magazine with pics of delicious meals & ask him to choose some pics to give you an idea that you can throw together, even if it means blendering up some of it for him.

My grandmother lived quite a long time. I sadly remember visiting her and after awhile she told me that she couldn't see nor hear me anymore and that I was young and should leave to go do something better with my time. So sad. Some years later when she was bedridden and only had left the memories in her head, her attendant complained to my mom and aunt that all she wanted to eat were jelly beans. These two daughters insisted that she be allowed to eat all the jelly beans she wanted.
Taste buds are one of the things that can go late in life. Listen to your grandfather. The food won't taste to him what it does for you.
Don't give him medibles unless he's fully aware of what your doing. And as SeaMaiden said, dosing is unpredictable. The last thing he needs is a terrifying experience. He knows it's time to go. It's great though if you can help him find some small enjoyments in the time he has left.

this subject is very important to me, and i know it stirs lots of shit, but if he wants to die, and particularly at his age and health, why dont we have a system to help them do that.
i hope for the welfare of your grandfathers soul, i watched mine lay in a hospital bed for a year before his body finally gave out, it really sucked.

First, ask him what he wants!
If he wants to die, don't force anything.
If he wants to eat jelly beans, let him. As far as medibles; I'd be cautious, as it may affect his bowels, adversely. However, worth trying.
What does he want?
I'd avoid salty foods, unless he wants them. I'd freely give, whatever he will eat. It is unlikely, at 98 he will eat himself to death. Most likely, he knows what he likes, and it needs given freely.
At his age, give him whatever he wants. On the flip side: I think he'd like to see 100. I know several people that past the age of 90 and fully 'intended' to live to be 100. Not 100 and a day, though.
I have observed people in their 90's eating; bacon, scrambled eggs, bread, candy, peanuts, coffee and very little food of substance. Usually requires Ensure (but frankly, it tastes terrible).
At 98, They cannot do very much and don't have the same needs, as a younger healthier person.
Can he speak, hear and walk? What does he say?
great post, i knew OR had a law, Montel was on a talk show talking about it, and thats when i found out OR had passed a law.

I made him salmon tonight and he said it was the best salmon he's ever eaten. I brought the brownies just in case but he is really moody and might get really mad for even asking him.
He is eating well, maybe a little too much sugar in the cookie and fruit.
