Microbe brew is expired; still good?

Bought some microbe brew from amazon (via seller Hyannis Country Garden, buyer beware) and checked the mfg. date on top to be 1/19/11. Now I see that the bottle says this would be expired as of today but I called fox farms and a rep tells me that the bugs are all still highly viable for years longer.

Which is the case? Thanks much

look at it under a microscope then you will know for sure.

Thanks Guunlæif, I was looking at microscopes and they seem a bit like an unjustifiable purchase for this one problem.
Anyone have experience using microbloom after the date? It would be more trouble than it's worth to send it back. Should I just toss it and buy another?

It still will be good to use. Try to use it all in the next 6 months.
