Well I have made the switch over to coco and am doing my first grow in nearly a year. I'm excited and they are around a week old. I have 4 feminised and am eagerly awaiting some action.

Photos and good times to follow!!

Just Nirvana, cheap and hopefully cheerful! I have grown it out years ago and it's been one of the best smokes I have had the pleasure of so I'm running it again. Who knows maybe try and get a mother going if I can be arsed!

Still not much going on, slow growth right now. The roots are just showing out of the bottom of the pot, would you repot now or wait for them to wind back in and around the pot a bit. They are in say 3" pots right now and just under two weeks old.

Thanks

sounds like they need repotting. i grow in soil and start off in 4in pots and i repot after 2 weeks, with coco i would of thoughts the roots develope quicker so will need repotting quicker. im thinking of giving coco a go soon myself.

Cheers JD, I have potted anyway, but judging on the slow root growth they could have gone longer..... Never ever using those shitty fibre pots again.

Wow those are some big pots for some small seedlings bro, you would be better off starting them off in 3" pots until roots show out the bottom, then transplant as that way you will have a better root ball :) Will also help with over watering.

Looking good though mate.

Peace

Hey speedeomn,

I got antsy and potted up to early I know.... Never mind! Will make sure next time I get a good wet and dry cycle in for the first week or so while the plant take hold.

My problem right now is, they are not drying out fast enough to do a wet dry cycle. Would I be safe enough to not be watering them for a few days, or would salt buildups etc cause a problem?

Thanks for looking folks!

Hey bro, that's one of the disadvantages of using a large pot for a small plant the coco takes ages to dry as the root mass is not big enough yet to suck up all the water, so yeah leave for days between watering and use the weight of the pot to decide when to water again, as the surface can appear dry when underneath its saturated.

Peace:tiphat:

,heres ya fix , lightly drench the dry coco in the new pots with a light nute solution ec 1.2 ph 5.8 and let them settle in ,do not let them dry out and do not do the dry thing like with soil ,,its coco ,different rules apply ..lightly give them low nutes till u think they can go up ,,:)

One thing i found with the coco jimi! Works out much cheaper if you buy the bricks rather than the 50l bags.Drainage is a lot poorer but with perlite-vermiculite added the problem is totally fixed. :)

Niice growing mate. Always have a sweet spot for NL. Thinking of getting sensi's, but worried about their bad rep, used to grow sensi's years ago and it was an amazing strain, but not so sure now.

So I'll stick around and see how Nirvana's perform, so far all is good mate.

Cheers.
