US Postal Service is getting screwed because private carriers are taking over all the more profitable deliveries and leaving the USPS to handle everything else that you can't make money from. This will ultimately hurt rural communities.

Once they rat you out, while you're waiting for trial and you have discovery where they show it was your mailman that ratted you out, you think they are still gonna want to come up to your box with you sitting out on the porch waiting for them every day staring at them? Maybe a few dead rats in the mailbox the first couple of days will send a real message they could deliver.
Not to get off topic but P.O entitlement packages are an anchor around the P.O's neck. Retire from the P.O and you get like 80% of your pay check for life plus I believe health benefits. It's hard to keep good on old promises when, people live longer then ever, the cost of business keeps going up and poor management.

Not to get off topic either, sorry for the derailment. Galactic, the usps is operated as a private entity despite its employees being federal employees. It's the only organization handled like one that doesn't get funding from the feds. To bitch about the gubment is to miss the fact that the usps isn't the gubment. As for the entitlement packages the problem is congress requiring the usps to raise funds for the next 70 years worth of pensions in ten years time. It was an unnecessary move and financially impossible and it's most of the reason for the post offices financial woes. It was a purposeful move to undermine a working institute.
I'm done with the topic, politics has zero place in the ic. I crossed that line. My point was to be nice to your local postal worker because it's a nice thing to do and maybe they'll remember that nice polite person if they come across your seeds.

I know my mail carrier. He has rang my bell many times with packages. He wont come up on the deck he is afraid of my dog even after he pet him. I dont think he would tell if he know's but you never know.
While we are already off topic.... How about the USPS learning a little about basic economics.... Flat rate shipping? Really? The problem is they don't charge you for what it costs to send something. If you send a basic envelope with a sheet of paper in it from Seattle to Tacoma it is one stamp. If you send the same from Seattle to Miami or New York, it is one stamp? Now which one cost more to move and deliver? I mean come on how stupid can they be? That movement and delivery should be calculated on cost + margin..... Even the flat rate boxes are a frickn' financial joke. The heavier it is and the further it has to go, the more it should cost the customer!
Pensions are part of a person's wage/compensation package and are not the problem. The USPS and other businesses/agencies need to quit whining about them and charge enough for their products to cover the cost of employing the best person for the job. We should not be offering 3rd world wages and compensation packages.

^The post office is constitutionally mandated. If it is done away with that is grounds for mass impeachments or civil war. I would not hesitate to go ahead and join in on the murdering of anyone in congress who contributed to shutting down the post office........im just kidding of course.

how many company's do you know of that can take a loss of 16 Billion and keep operating. I have herd they have lost money for the last 5 years. I think someone is bailing them out must be the feds.
well they have to change the way they operate, so they can break even at least, but they cant be gotten rid of . They are constitutionally mandated, in the original constitution. It is an essential part of free speech when you think about it.
I think some of that 16 B is for the people already using there pension. I worked for a company that paid very well,bonus, over spending. They lasted 3 years before they had to close. Some people just dont know how to manage there finances just look at our gov.

Does this apply to postal carriers that you smoke with? Because most of ours smoke. Even the Local Post Master is a pot head. 
I just can't stand the poor attitudes that I always find at the PO. They should appreciate just having a job at this point.
Some vendors are making people sign a tracking / release form at the door for their seed orders; hopefully the postman or woman will hand you your seed order packed stealthily.

I HATE signing for seeds. I pretty much wont order from anywhere that makes me sign for them.
