PH'ing water with Alkaline Water?

You should do some more reading about pH. Alkaline water is alkaline. It will raise pH. It will never lower pH. You need pH down which is nitric or phosphoric acid to lower.

Yea you can use the water to raise your ph but you will need some ph down its cheap and you dont need very much. I run well water with a high ph so i always have a bottle. Ive heard you can use a lemon to lower your ph but never tried it (citric acid is one of the ingredients in the ph down)

Some home alkaline systems, or maybe all, not sure, produce both acid and alkaline water. Say you want 8.0 ph water, the system dispenses the desired alkalinity, as well, since making alkaline water, the system has to make acid water. So from some units you can get acid and alkaline water. A friend of mine has this system setup for his whole house. Showering in 9.0 alkaline water, with a very high dollar filter for chlorine, fluoride and a billion other contaminants. So i guess i didnt ask the right question. My apologizes. The system uses ionization to create the water, so one could ultimately ph up and down the water with out chemical additive. My question is would there be any detrimental effects from doing such a technique as opposed to chemical ph'ing? In my mind it would be better, but im a noob still.

This is his exact system, the one faucet on the right dispenses desired alkaline, and the by-product of creating alkaline water is acid water, being expelled out of the left faucet is the acid water. He ph test's the system regularly, and says it stays super consistent. There are prsets to macro to a specific ph level. His #1 = 8.0 ph #2 = 9.0 ph and #3 = 9.5. He varys it after testing, trying to figure out the best balance. So since you can create acid water to ph down, and alkaline for up, will this work?
