Hi,

first post here and I would like to start with a journal of my second grow.

I build a new 15 sq ft box, the first time I actually build anything on my own, so it wasn't fast or exact, but I did the job ;) Its 1m*1.4m*1.9m, so enough space for my new girls.

I had a 430 cbm fan with a 450 cbm carbon filter, a 400W MH, which I recently upgraded to 720 cbm (slowed down) and a 600W dimmable ballast.

I had 10 feminized AK48 seeds from nirvanashop a indica/sativa mix with a supposedly stronger head high. All 10 sprouted, but only 9 came out of their 1L pots.

I'm using Coco as my medium and water with Canna Coco A+B nutrients. The PH and EC is measured every time and started with a 5.8 PH and 0.6 EC.

They were a bit slower than my first grow in the beginning, but had huge leaves and developed beautifully. I topped/fimmed after they all had three nodes which took around 2 weeks to recover, at which point not only the main-stem, but the stems around had all a similar height. It was my first time and a bit scary, but if paid off.

After 35 days vegging they were high enough for me, but foll of leaves. I trimmed a lot on the bottom of the plants and moved some things around in my box. Now they were so big, my improvised drain table that gathered the additional water in a bowl became too small and unpractically. I removed the table and are now taking them all out, water them above two tubs (1 for fresh water + nutes, 1 for drain), wait a bit and put them back in a new place.

And two weeks further I trimmed an additional time

Oh, BT means "Day of Flower", mixed that up.

Now I finally upgraded to a 600W HPS with an Adjust-A-Wing Reflector which is a huge improvement over my 400W wit no-name reflector. Space is getting crowded, but still every plant is developing really great:

Those last pictures were made today and day 45 of flowering, I can't edit my post, sorry.

All in all I have far exceeded my own expectations. I hadn't had any problems with any deficiency, I rose the EC from 0.8 to now 1.9-2.0 and the 5.8 PH from the beginning.

Every of those 9 plant has formed from 4-6 stems that grow up to the top and each grows 8-12 inch of bud. They are smaller on size compared to my first grow, but probably already double the overall amount. The first hairs are turning amber and I expect 3-4 more weeks until harvest.

The only thing that worries me are the sheer amount of leaves, at specially on the top. I'm used to see pictures where the stems usually stand out a bit, but my leaves are everywhere. Is this still alright or should I trim a few of those?

For any other suggestions on how to improve I'm grateful. I'm still new to most of it and try to learn as much as possible. And I'm glad to provide an answer to any question you have.

For comparison:

This was my 1st grow at the same age, which yielded about 4oz. I had fewer, smaller and sicker plants than today, all results of lazyness (no ph and ec meter and inexperience in general). But I learned from it and today those girls probably carry more than double than that even today with a few weeks to go.
