I have been doing some searching around here and the web in general and I have been unable to find any kind of consensus on what causes some plants to have "taco leaves". I have twelve plants (6 each of 2 strains) just transplanted from solo cups to one gallon smart pots of straight B'cuzz coco. They are all fed the same and in the same environment but a couple of them have taco leaves. This post is more the help resolve my idle curiosity since most of the plants are doing well I don't plan to change anything.
from what i have read, and imo, taco leaves has nothing to do with a mag def...it is more from the transpiration within the plant being off for the environment its in...
ive noticed this taco effect from having a salt buildup...having too much salt in the medium will dry the roots out quicker, leading to the plant to try and keep moisture in rather than expelling it...thus the taco effect..
it should also be noted that K plays a big role in water up take and how efficienty it is used within the plant(transpiration)

I've been trying to figure this one out for about a year. It starts as rusting/browning of the center vein around weeks 4-5 flowering on a ecsd strain.
I've been checking ph runoff (coco) and noticed that by week 4 ph is acidic 4-4.4
Any clue?

hi, been running maxibloom and mag cal in coco watering almost everyday since week 3.
week 5 and 6 after topping, ran the ppm a little high at 1400 when i started noticing the yellowing / lime green leaves. the high ppms didn't seem to correct what i thought was a deficiency so flushed with 500 ppm during first week of flower. they are just starting their 2nd week of flower. my ph has been set at around 5.5 each watering.
they were initially under a 600mh. last week put them under two 600hps' at 75%.
i'm having trouble diagnosing what the problem is. i'm thinking either nitrogen deficiency? magnesium? sulphur? iron? nutrient lock out? or could it be shock from the 2 hps'? or should i up the ph to make N more available ?
they look healthy, just that i've never seen leaves so light. there is one plant, an auto that i did not top, and the leaves are a nice dark green that i am accustomed to. i've provided a picture of the auto with another plant for reference.

That looks like septoria or other bacterial/fungal leaf spot. Yellow halo around necrotic spots. Check em out on google image search and see what you think.

Im using a mix that contains,3 parts pro hp,1 part worm castings, 1 cup of perlite per gal of mix and also some grandular trace minerals, my question is what should i treat this as ? soil or soilless/hydro. right now i feed with nutes that are set at a ph of 6.5 this is was i was told by another grower , i think the ph is wrong, because during flower i also have issues, with all the growing shoots tops getting yellowish/lime greenish, also my ppm is at 1000.
any tips would be great

pale green plant i general, yellowing leaf that has a "purple" blotch and slowly shrivels one finger at a time...in my opinion lack of utes i general...i see specificly n and p ad possibly zinc but hard to see for sure, but looks like either lack of nutes or ph issue
awesome guide joe! Ya, my pics were outdated and it was hard to update with my thread locked, mods did unlock it at my request, but adding new pictures was hard, 10K helped me pic out the ones that were good enough to post. I always tried to make a flow chart, but no matter how hard I tried there were too many variables to come up and the bigger it got the more confusing, there were just too many situations that could change depending on what you threw in the equation, but your flow chart is nice, not too big and very helpful! I am going to be updating mine soon, Im going to make a thread and ask peeps what they want to be updated and added cause I am all out of ideas, but this thread is awesome and I'm glad to see someone else putting up a sick plants thread

Just after reading through this thread, some plants of mine have taken a turn.
They are in soil, in week 6 of flower and being fed Green Planet Bloei A and B every other feed (whereby, you alternate between flush and feed ), as per the feed schedule.
The yellowing is mostly to older leaves, but not necessarily lower on the plant.
After reading through this very informative thread I believe it to be either Nitrogen or Mag deficiency.
