Emerald Cup Info

I was wanting to get a bit of info about the Emerald Cup. Being form wayyyyyyy out of State it will take some planning on my part to get there. Firstly is a medical card required to attend? Secondly how many days is the actual event? Thirdly, if you have attended please give me any advise that you would think would help me out. I would be flying into Arcata, and driving down.

A med card is not required to attend. The location for next years cup is still being determined. There will probably be a 215 only area for card holders but people will be blazing everywhere.
It's a one day event from around noon till late night. You could fly into Arcata or the bay area and drive up. It's more expensive to fly to Arcata as it's a small airport and they won't have any direct flights to there. The bay area is cheap to fly into and there may be direct flights,but you'll have to rent a car and drive 4+ hours or take a bus.
Dude,it's going to be so fun next year. It's an awesome event. I always dreamed of going to the cannabis cup and in a lot of ways I bet this is better.

Gotta plan this far ahead, but I believe it will be worth it. Are there seed vendors? If so do they only sell to 215 patients? I would really like to drop some major coin on some new things. I haven't ordered any seeds from over seas in a while. With what I have going on I just don't want to risk it anymore. So I figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

There are seed venders there,not sure how it works,they may just be giving out free seeds. They had BOG,GGG,TGA,and some locals,next year should be a lot better.

Best advise,book your hotel way in advance and be careful where you stay.

Some of the smaller hotels or motels in the area have some pretty shady people as guests. Lot's of meth tweakers and crazy people. Spend 150 bucks and stay at a nicer place which is still not that nice,but chill and safe.

would implore you to take a few hours and get id and a mmj card
when you arrive. it's fast, cheap, ez and cali DMV's make appts for
timed visits online. you can then visit dispensaries and go home
with some clone onlys as well as seeds.

if you have spent your life in a non med state fearing the wrath of the state,
you will freak at how cool it is to visit a 1st class dispensary.

I wanted to come out for the cup so bad this year, maybe next year..

I was checking the DMV rules for an i.d, and I will need a California address. It also says that you will receive your i.d. in the mail within 60 days. That doesn't sound like it would help me on my first trip. Got anymore info on how to do this another way?

to avoid surrendering your old state ID or your drivers license
use a US passport to obtain the new state id, I suggest a friend, relative or forwarding mail service for the address issue.
they give you a paper temp ID when you leave the DMV that worked for me at every dispensary I visited except one.
when I visited dispensaries I would show my passport with photo ID and the paper cali temp ID.
the official one took 6 weeks to come in the mail. I was walking out of a dispensary with a huge bag of stanky
legal meds just a few hours after getting off the airplane.

oregon will give med cards without any state residency FWI.

so who else ended up going? I had a blast. So much good product and weed. I think I went to the NorStar booth like 3 times for some hash and edibles. They had some ChemD and Sour Cheese full melt that im loving right now. Got to meet a bunch of industry peeps and weed celebs. All and all I thought it was a great event. Only complaint was the food, not that it was bad just expensive and gourmet. Where were all the munchies?? Its a cannabis event, you'd think the food vendors would be all over it.

I ended up getting a bunch of melt from DJ Short's crew. Got some Azure Haze shatter and Grape Krush honeycomb that's really nice. Also got some Blueberry and Flo wax from those guys.

The best deals I found at the event were BOGs seeds and DJ Shorts concentrates. I stocked up on both.

The food was really good, but pricey. They had both Lagunitas and Bear Republic brews on draft. The 215 tent was insane. Dabs after dabs after dabs

What? DJ Short had a booth? I couldn't find his booth for the life of me. Where was it located? Did they have beans?

It wasn't a booth really... no signage or anything. Just a table sitting in the middle of the 215 area. It was pretty close to the entrance/exit where BOG was.
