Who digs the Proto pipe?

I got one in trade years ago, and still use it from time to time. A bit of a pain since it clogs so fast but I still like it.

I've never seen another one like it, it's either chrome plated or stainless, don't know which.

You can get replacement pokers pretty cheap on Amazon and probably sleazebay.

Why would anybody smoke out of one of these brass and rubber smelling things when they could smoke out of a nice bowl, or even roll a joint.

Joints are the best stealth anyway, imo.
If you get nervous @ getting caught, eat the joint, problem solved.

How you gonna eat a proto-pipe? "Uh, no officer, this is a special wrench, I'm doing an oil change, see the sludge?"

proto pipe would be good for when you are gonna be away for a while. got everything you need in one piece.

Hello all,

I have been using a proto since 1987.

I sill have the poker(replaced several times) and once while traveling through Willits, CA I stopped at the factory (a little hole inthe wall shop with about 5-6 workers) and they rebuilt my proto so the pan fits perfect and a new poker....for free.

My proto has been to numerous concerts, day trips, cross country trips, camping, fishing, boating, marraiges, divorces, funerals, births, hospitals, restuarants and even once while leaning against a police car. And once into Vancouver.

I have smoked the shit out this pipe in just about any place you could think of.

Stealthy and compact.

I however have been rocking a glass pipe for the last 3 years. My proto is in my smoking dope box.

Dude I loved that thing. I lost track of it and years later got a new one. Then I realized the bud holder would get stuck and barely holds a joint, the poker bends when you are pushing hard on a resined up bowl then doesnt fit back in right and it clogs easy and you get burned liquid resin oil in your mouth when it is well used.My memories of it were way better than reality. lol

I admit, it looks cool in the case at the head shop, or the first time someone pulls one out- "Ooh, what is that?" I went out and got one the next day. So I'm a nerd too, but at least I finally threw it away!

I love me my Proto. I mean sure, it tastes like Kentucky Fried Ass, and I only drag it out for like one day a year, but it's old enough to buy its own drinks, is tiny, portable and pretty much bullet-proof.

I have used one for years. they do not last forever without cleaning them. My first one the bottom would not come out after a few yesr of use.
