how long before plants roots dry

If I'm running an aero system and the pump goes out say during flower when it drinks the most, how long do I have until the plant dies? I would imagine humidity will go up if the pump fails. The exhaust fails as well so it wont dry as fast. Anyone running an aero setup have their pump fail?

Ive not got an aero. I Use a drip system.
But have been on holiday and came home to all my plants totally drooped over, looking very unhealthy. Actually looked dead.
pumps had died while i was away... watered them plenty and after a few days looked fine. Marijuana plants a very hardy as far as im concerned.

Thanks phil. I too had plants and clones I didnt water or mist where it dried up till it was almost too late. Those were not in aero or hydro though and can last days without watering maybe even weeks. In hydro I'm sure it should be within a matter of days, maybe hours as some of the posts I read says.

48-72 hours before they are fucked in my experience. After 24 hours they will show signs of irreversible damage.

Just check on your garden everyday which you should be doing anyways and you won't have any problems. Just have a back up pump handy.

Battery backup systems work really well to cover you for a day. Even an alarmed power strip and a marine battery and inverter is great. We had a pretty good bank of batteys at our hydro warehouse. HM
