Hey guys, trying to get my first grow under my belt. I am growing some WW from seeds and I am seeing yellowing on all the older leaves while there is still lots of new green growth at the same time. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm trying to learn as much as I can. The plants are under a 600W MH that is about 3ft away from them. Temps under light are around 80 degrees. I have an intake, exhaust and a circulation fan going in the grow room as well. They are in FF Light warrior, and I have been feeding them 2-4 tblsp of bubbled tap water a day depending on how moist the soil is.
How long has this problem been going on?1.5 wks
What STRAIN are you growing?Green House Seeds WW
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)Seed
What is the age of your plants?Under a month
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?Since germination
Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? If not, what mixture were they in before?
How Tall are the plants?
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
What brand Nutrient's are you using?N/A
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding?
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS?
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
How often are you watering?
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
What size bulb are you using?
How old is your bulbs?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)
If using RO,Distilled, mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives?(Only if you have a tds pen)
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's?

You say 1.5 weeks since this started, does that mean the new growth is coming out normal?
Any ideas whats in your tap water? Do you use a water softener? Or do you know what the salinity of your township water is?
Looks like it's burnt but I don't know why they would be based on the details
BTW just a little bit everyday is going to create a shallow root zone..something to think about

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm going to get a PH tester on Monday, I know that my tap water is treated with chlorine hence the air rock setup. I started these plants off before I finished my room in a tent under a 90w growufo led and I was feeding them straight tap water. Once i got my room done, i got my air rock going and have been feeding them that ever since. there is lots of new growth on every plant and only the oldest leaves seem to get the yellowing. On the plant with the most leaves in my pic, her orginal two leaves wilted down to the point that you cant see them and then all the green growth started about that.

Also, I had no idea about the shallow root zone, how should i change my watering schedule to avoid that? Water every other day?

Heres the thing, They look hungry not overfed, what soil mixture are they in? If they are just under a month, depending on which soil you used the nutes in the soil would be about run out by now. Those leaves that are yellowing are leaves that are like holding tanks for the plants nutrients, they fall off reguardless, but that means the plant is using stored nutrients which means it's about time to feed your plants, I don't see from the pics there is any other problem, BUT I need to know more info to make sure the information I gave you will stick if that is the situation that is going on. Without more info I or anyone else won't be able to help out as much, because there are many things that can do this, so to fix the problem that information narrows it down very much. But honestly that plant looks like it needs food soon...... and when you do, you use a very weak amount for the first feeding.... don't follow the directions on the bottle unless the nutes your using is made for cannabis. You will burn them very easy, the mixture you are using I am sure was not real hot, or the plant strain can take a little more nutes. Now if the 2nd set of single leaves was showing this problem, then the problem would be farther along, but those leaves that are showing the problem, are most likely going to be the situation I listed above, but still need the info on your grow to be 100% sure, otherwise the plant is not showing other signs of problems.

About the root zone, that is true to a certain extent, but you don't want to go too far away from where the root zone is, otherwise the plant will be sitting in too wet of soil and the root growth will be slower and the plant will show signs of moisture stress. As long as the plant is in the proper pot size then you can do this, but you don't want to water with a plant this size where you get considerable run off, few bits of water running out the bottom is fine.

Thanks for the info!! I thought I was overwatering, I had no it was nute related. I have them in Fox Farms light warrior seed starter soil, they are probably about 3/4 month old now. I have one of LC's soil mixes with all the amendments cooking in a bin outside the grow room and I can transplant whenever

ok good, then the info I gave above was correct, as soon as the leaves yellow a bit more the first set of single leaves once they yellow a little more transplant them into different soil, but make sure it's not too hot, or you will stunt them and have more problems! I don't see an overwatering problem from the pics you posted... just make sure when you transplant you don't put them into a big pot.l.... because then you can over water very easy with the root space being limited and more soil than roots water sits in areas where no roots are keeping the rest of the soil too wet.... make sure you put them into the proper pot size to the size of the plant.....
