Life isn´t fair

I´m very sad, just came from my neighbors, we were there for condolences.
Before 1 week a young man of 19 years, in a invalid chair got hit by a car deadly. He was driving on the street, because the sidewalk wasn´t free from snow. It was in the north of my hometown, it was sad but such sad things happen.
Yesterday evening, my weedcookie just started to turn, the telephone was ringing and another neighbor asked me if we gave money for a wreath? I asked for which person and she told me that the dead boy was our neighbors son. I had to take a seat.
Than i was going to my neighbor woman who collected the money, stoned to the bone, she´s very fat, i thought i was talking with Jabba the Hunt. But of course that is not the main thing, the pain of the parents is the main thing.
My wife and me was going to the neighbors for condensing before an hour. They´re down to the ground in the moment. It was in a 30 Kilometer Zone, where you have to drive with very low speed, the weather was good, the police is checking now, why the young woman hit him, at normally he was clearly to see, no rain, no fog, maybe she was in action with her mobile phone while driving? The parents asking theirselves questions about questions. As it is in that cases, nobody understands why he was driving there on this day, by that time he was at work daily. A healthy young man had good chances to survive an accident like this but he was handicapped and not strong enough to make it.

He had no easy life, but he was loved from his family, in the mind he was absolutely ok and he had a good sense for humor, black humor too, sometimes we had a talk about the garden fence or in summer we had 2 times barbecue, with him and our neighbors.

Sorry, but i had to leave my thoughts somewhere,.....

Some people just do not take the responsibility of driving as seriously as they should. My condolences to your neighbors.

The lessons in store through pain are equally relevant as those through happiness. It is where our understanding meets in the middle, that life is fully appreciated.

Life's definitely not fair bro, bad things happen to good people every day. Sorry for your loss, Herman.

I know you to be a big fan of music, this reminds me of John Prine's Bruised Orange.

Very sorry and saddened to read this, Herman. I have sons and can't imagine the pain, though it is something I worry about given their ages and all. Answers may never be found. May he rest in peace and may his parents find some solace.

Hello at all,
thank you very much for the warm words. In the moment as i wrote i was very sad. Yesterday was the burial, in germany we´ve got "Waldfriedhöfe" (forest cementery), it´s not a real cementery in the forest but you can be burried beside a tree. It´s a special area in a forest. But most of the people are on a ordinary cementery.
But on this sad day as i wrote about the dead young man, in the evening i had a smile on my face, a fellow worker of mine gave birth to a healthy little girl. :)

That´s life, the big wheel is always turning, we are coming we are going.
