It is feeble minded folks like these, who will cause legislation to be enacted against the rest of us, at a time that we need less laws, not more.

We are all being painted with the same paint brush, by the uneducated public, even though the miscreants blowing themselves up, were most likely advised against indoor extraction with butane, but chose to ignore it, and the rest of us are bright enough to use proper safety precautions.

I once debated on this forum with a village idiot, who essentially posted, "We all know we are not supposed to shoot butane indoors, but we also know that we all do, so just how much is the maximum that we can get away with?"

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg, sometimes I feel we are doomed as a race, cause you just can't fix stupid and we've already made genocide illegal. In the natural course of events, Mother Nature clears the gene pool herself, and civilization has interfered with our warm and fuzzy unnatural rules.

That is a pretty serious explosion. Shame on them for doing this indoors and putting their lives & others at risk. Shame on the media for their demonization towards marijuana... Sadly something this serious will scare the shit out of people, as it should. Pretty sad if them two do live they are facing some serious charges.

I guess some people consider 'blowing a tube inside' a couple cases with everything sealed up tighter than ticks butt. I'm sure the bathroom fan was on LOL.

I consider 'blowing tube inside' my garage with the door open a foot or two, the back door open for draft, and a Lasko fan (or two) helping the current.

this is what the extracted material from a "2'nd soak" in a mason jar looks like ... been purged with 191 ....if light's in back, it's dark translucent ...very very potent ... the 2'nd wash is much more sedative medication , compared to the 1st wash , which is super head

I love the oil this Afgahn Kush has been producing but it hardens up very quickly.. had to put it back on a hot water bath a few times so it wouldn't shatter everywhere when I tried to scrape it.

Hi there guys and gals.

Would like to add a little something to the convo.

It's an exciting time with research of the safety issues around BHO being finally looked into.

I have to say I love BHO, I've been a convert for a couple years! I'd like to think it's better on the lungs than flowers, I usually smoke about 5-6 dabs a day, versus the 20+ bong hits I use to take.

I have noticed the black shit I use to cough up has gone away, but have also read that the oil somehow negates the expectorant effects of cannabis, lots of research needs to be put into this. We don't all want to die from lung complications in 10 years.

I wish to learn, and I'm reading all I can and I will be traveling this summer to learn the proper tek. In my circle up here we have always just whipped up budder. Low heat double boiler for 10-15 mins on 5 gram or so runs for our own stash. Our logic was that you inhale more butane in one bong hit with a bic lighter than could be trapped in a dab.

I then watched a documentary about oil, and realized the butane might be leaving behind all kinds of residues. The last post though, if accurate shows my fears of residues was unfounded! (at least in properly purged oil) Can anyone link fail tests? Does lightly purged budder have aromatic hydrocarbons and the like in it?

My main observation/comment was this though:

I have noticed that the heat of the nail plays a massive role in how good the hit tastes, and how it affects my throat. I learned to smoke this stuff from glassblowers, and they would get their nails SUPER hot and take dabs not long after. This seemed to create a smoke.

Lately I have been using a TI nail, and I get it to the 1st stage of red, then let it cool about 10-15 secs. I get it all melting in the cauldron then I cover the top of the dome, then uncover, then cover. In a perfect hit (for me) there is some liquid left in the cauldron but I still get a big hit that feels more like vapor, and it doesn't affect my throat.

Hopefully we find that this is safer than smoking herb on the lungs because of the reduced need to smoke as much!

Please link any better ways vaporize this oil as far as lungs go!

I read a lot of shit that doesn't make sense, especially with all the threatened bubble baggers out there.
Like this one time, I read that you're not really getting high of the cannabinoids, but really just feeling the effects of the Butane...So after huffing a case of butane, I concluded this was bullshit. (just joking about huffing butane).

The heat of the nail has affect, but I think it is more the heat of the vapor as it enters your lungs, and the presence of H20 that may be vapor hot...Of course wax vs shatter, temp of purge, ect... all factors. Try adding ice cubes to the bong water.

And the fact is for all the shit talked about residual butane health risks, I can't find shit about the LT effects of trace amounts of butane, MSDS for overexposure to the gas (like your in an industrial setting) equates to 'when dizzy move to fresh air'. A lot of people will make a lot of hoopla out of nothing, then you have to question their motive.

My motive, finding this was like a wet dream from my childhood...Don't get me wrong full-melt is great too.

Someone is shucking ya bro! Oil most definitely does not negate the expectorant effect, and is used for that property by some.
