I will go with soil. I have my biggest in its organic mix. I will admit, try not to cringe to hard but it's in an Maracle grow organic mix it's a 2 month deal, I had mixed it with peat and perlite so it would not be so potent for my new plant. I would like to look into xmobotx's methods for full organic growing.

at least you mixed the MG down a notch

seen quite a few who started w/ pre-amended mixes like that PLUS put their own amendments on :yoinks:

next time you water; cut a chunk of aloe and squeez the stufz in the water ~think like TBS/gallon but; less is fine too ~only takes a little

O yea guys I took those pictures a couple hours ago, of all 3 plants. The second picture the leaf that is pointing towards you the lower one of the two has yellow at the tip now hours later I water every other day. It's in peat moss and perlite it's about a foot away from the CFls. It's about 75 to 85 degrees in the environment. Is it ready for some food perhaps? Meaning a transplant. It has been about two weeks in that peat and per mix.

Good choice. Making my own potting mix worked out the best for me. It's a lot easier than most perceive it to be.

Yea I once read few good words. "It's just a weed" and "don't kill it with love" I try to keep it that simple.

more and more; i think my early potting mixes were not simple enough

been kinda saying around the place how i think a 'seedling mix' w/ a little 'good' compost top-dressed would be a good way to go

most people kill their plants w/ some over-watering love

ooters check out this thread to see how this guy is applying aloe via foliar sprays

his regimen is actually based on the advice of our resident organic gurus; as i recall its a silica product {ag-sil or pro-tekt} aloe & possibly something like lavender tea {though i thik he is just spraying aloe and ag-sil}

long as they arent bubbling up out of the soil when you water no big deal but yeah; just a little neem seed meal puts a quick end to soil-born woes from insects and; its not too big a deal to mix a weak tea and strain for spraying like spider mites and such too

right now today there are grows on here afflicted w problems a neem seed meal user wouldnt even think twice about ~same w/ karanja meal

oddly that stuff can go in the worm bin w/o any ill effects to the worms and many of the other beneficial bugs in the bin
