So this is my next grow, a 6 plant scrog.
They're all feminized seeds, vegging for 6 weeks now.
All plants started to show pre-flowers and very tiny lil white hairs can be found on all 6.

However the Kushberry and Kosher Kush also have a roundish, kinda tear drop shaped thing growing on a few upper nodes.

Hope these are calyxes but I searched around and saw hermies that kinda looked like this. What u think guys?

so those male nuts always grow a stem?
This ball doesn't seem to have one yet..

Also wanted to add that I saw that particular ball appear first 4 days ago, might have missed it before, but it was very very small then.

i had the same thing happen with one of my feminized grapefruits last week. white hairs showing except for a couple bud sites. within a couple days i had hairs pop. be patient and wait it out for awhile even if it is male your early into flower and you still have a couple weeks before pollen sacks can do any damage. and in my experience pollen sacks will have little stems attaching them to the plant.

Even when I zoom in I have a hard time telling what's going on there... myself or someone else could likely give you a definitive answer with a more clear pic, best taken with a white balance setting to get rid of the HPS glow. From what can tell it looks like one of those oddly shaped female calyx's that sometimes never even pop pistils.

They look like calyxes, don't panic. Keep an eye on it but you should be OK. Enjoy the harvest !

BALLS CRIED THE QUEEN!!

IF I HAD 2, I'D BE KING!

Don't get wack happy yet,, but I see possible both.

Wierd, I have a inhouse breeding project that, last round had 2 seeds and 2 go into flower.
One female and one male. Now the male has female flowers. I think he knows the fate that awaits and it scared him beyond straight.

Wierd doo-doo I've seen lately.

Also have 3 of Heads G13 X Diesel - - the tallest and lankiest is the girl.

Pot plants are like a box of chocolets, ya don't know what ya got till it hits the pipe.

I am not a fan of any plant that can fertalize itself and/or others - you may agree or not. You have time to get accointed with the gender issues and decide.

If it's all you have, seeded stash trumps no stash.

Just wait till you can see it clearly. I can't see anything that I could name as male or female parts in that pic. Hope it will be a girl! Good luck!

3 of 6 plants have these things growing. I cant believe this could be happening, 3 out of 6?

But thanks guys for keeping my hopes up. I will try to get another pic tomorrow.

I noticed that the more matured once have 2 pointy endings, not sure if they're hairs. They rather look like a cameltoe.

How does a male ball look? Does it have a completely round surface? Because this one as I said kinda opens up at the end with those two pointy edges. It's a bit visible on the first pic I took.

I've read that male balls grow in groups. How long after the first ball should the next ball appear? These things I got here still appear to be single...

Here a couple more pix.

On the last pic I mean to see balls, so Male.

But it's actually verry easy to be sure... Take the 'little ball' off the plant and peel it open with your finger nails. If there are only 2 segments it's a female, and if there are 5 it's a male.

You can do this already when the 'little' ball isn't even the size of a needle pin head, but you would prolly need some magnifying tool when they are that small.

noooo!!!!!!!! I will try dissect the ball when it gets bigger.

Is it possible to get a decent grow out of hermies if I would continue to pluck those nuts?

S

Scrappy-doo

I've seen plants that looked like ballsacks forming at first but then pistils grew out of them and turned out 100% female. Don't start plucking yet just wait and see what happens.

Too late scrappy I already plucked one.

From what I can see that "ball" has some peels around it, then inside are 2 pointy tips....

Is there still hope?

Here is it under the microscope. Notice the peel made of plant material, then those two pointy tips coming out.

Looks fem to me. In my experience man the best thing to do is just wait. Another thing I've seen/learned is that male flowers congregate/get gregarious much sooner than female flowers. Female flowers always start off with 1-2 pistils then work their way on up slowly. Male flowers will start off as 1-2 and in a night or two you've got more there than you can count. Calyxes don't grow all over each other like the characteristic male flowers do, or at least if they do they do so much later or look significantly different than when males do.

That looks female to me though, look at the white hairs.

In my experience, about 90% of the males show before the females, female flowers usually point up while males usually hang down.

From your first pics I was leaning towards female, the last ones can't tell but the microscope pic won't help much at that magnification.
Don't be impatient you've got a very long time to go before harvest and being impatient won't help! The flowers will show what you have soon enough so you don't have to worry about pollination.

Thanks humility i'm keeping hopes up.

Midnight Tokar, I know that time will tell. The thing is if it was possible to know now, I can still adjust the scrog. Lets say (god forbid) they were truly hermies, I can get them out now, rearrange the remaining plants and veg longer to make sure the screen gets full. Otherwise I will have large empty areas in da scrog...

But I guess if it's impossible to tell now, I will just go ahead and keep them all and go on as planned.
