I've got 3 going now - 5 out of 5 popped, 3 out of 5 female. Stronger and more vigorous than anything I've grown. Smoked the top leaves and pre-flowers from the males. Got my attention. Looking forward to harvest.

Love my Satori. I've got a couple going now as my supply is running a bit low.

According to Mandala themselves, the parents haven't changed: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=253696

So, it's still the same plant now as it was then.

That thread says it hasn't changed in the past 5 years or so, which is true, but it was changed back in '06.

In 2006 we introduced our new Satori. We have refined this strain genetically to produce an even more reliable and powerful cross that will delight your connoisseur heart.

I grew it and the speed queen back in 06. I think I only had one female out of two seeds and the plant grew very well here in Colombia. I'm not sure if I had the older version, I really don't recall. I do remember it was very strong tasty plant but for me it had a dirty finish in the effect. The speed queen on the other hand was much to my liking in fact I loved it. Mandala is a great and their customer support was fantastic, I'm going to try them again very soon.
Peace from Colombia!

Thank you. Like i mentioned, i thought it was better when first released. Huge elongated spears grown outdoors @42n finished oct 7 and was some incredible smoke.
By the time i got around to buying more it was not the same and no where near the results as the original.

Found a post 06 pheno that yields nice takes round 70 days.. smells and tastes like motor oil/diesel...rips your head off.. changes color in the cold. Went through the whole pack. Cant remember sex ratio but wasnt that bad... Kept this one... It will put your fist in your mouth and drop you to your knees after a good bong rip. Plan to cross it with a Ace malawi male in the future.. since my buddy went down in the pose after his first rip the cross will be named Tebow..... lol:woohoo:

I have only tried the "new" version, but enjoyed it. Quite strong - almost too strong if you're only smoking occasionally. I remember it being very hardy and easy to grow, yielding pretty well, and not requiring any kind of special attention. Go somewhat light on the nutes (I usually do until I see deficiencies, she didn't show any).

thanx everybody for all of the info and thoughts, and thanks for the links Hush and John Deere. opinions only: do you think F2, outcrossing from F2, outcrossing parent plants would yeild better results? or should it be a little of all?
