Life is Crazy!

I just saw the advertisement for the movie Standup Guys. It is being billed as "the old, bad guys bucket list" and includes stars I have always enjoyed through the years - Pachino, Walken and Arkin. Now we are all suddenly old guys? WTF, already? Life is just starting to get crazy and we too old to be part of it. Crazy, man.

Yes, you are. Just like Clint Eastwood, Bobby Lee Jones, and that dead guy, Dennis Hopper.

I just saw Walken in this flick called Undertaking Betty and it was so hilarious, I'm recording it to watch again.

You're either old, or dead. Take your pick.

Yeah, I turned around and I'm suddenly staring at 51 in the mirror. Where did my life go? How did I suddenly get middle-aged, high-risk for heart attack and suffering from shingles, arthritis and erectile dysfunction? Geez.

There is nothing to be gained for the Democratic Party by legalizing marijuana. Legalization will emancipate a significant bloc of voters who are currently beholden to the Democratic Party and the notion of legalization - not realizing that the Democratic Party sold us out a long, long time ago and is not interested in re-buying that package.

you didnt suddenly become a high risk for heart attack, which goes hand in hand with erectile dysfunction btw.. that is a result of your diet and the genes that have kicked in as you have moved on into later life.. you can still cure that more than you probably think..

the arthritis is a gene/diet thing as well..and the shingles can be abated with old herbal remedies and essential oils..

here's an article
Essential oils have been used for centuries in the treatment of shingles and the painful rash that accompanies this illness. The advantages are essential oils are relatively inexpensive and have few, if any, side-effects.

Oregano Essential Oil: Oregano essential oil is from the family of mint, and has very potent anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-parasitic properties. Because of its strength, it is recommended that oregano essential oil be diluted with a base oil such as jojoba oil for optimal results.

Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is steam distilled from a small shrub from Australia from the family of myrtle. Australian natives have known for centuries about the anti-fungal, anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of tea tree oil. It is also considered to be a potent disinfectant.

Lavender Essential Oil: Also from the mint family, lavender essential oil not only smells heavenly, it too has powerful antiseptic properties. It is also known for its calming effect, and can reduce pain and irritation as well as soothing inflammation.

Geranium Essential Oil: Originating from Egypt or India, geranium essential oil joins this family of antiseptics and is also good as an antispasmodic and antioxidant to calm the nerves and boost the immune system.

Here is an essential oil recipe that can be used to treat the painful rash of shingles:

10 drops lavender

10 drops tea tree oil

5 drops geranium

2 drops oregano

10 drops jojoba or other base oil

This mixture should be combined in a glass bowl. Test a small sample on the inside of the forearm. Then, if no reaction is noted, clean the affected area with a gentle cleanser and pat dry. Apply the essential oil mixture with clean cotton balls, and let dry. This can be applied twice a day, typically once in the morning and once at night. The only side-effect known could be redness, irritation, or rash, but it is rare and if it occurs, treatment should be stopped immediately and the redness or irritation will clear up right away.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for shingles, and if you’ve experienced chickenpox, you already have the virus in your system. Therefore, the best course of treatment is prevention. To this end, it is important to keep your immune system in tip-top shape. This means eating healthy, getting enough rest, and taking nutritional supplements such as L-Lysine, which has been shown to be beneficial in helping to prevent the spread of the virus to healthy cells.

Medication in the form of antidepressants and anti-virals can help reduce the pain and lessen the duration of shingles, but for immediate relief with few, if any, side-effects, essential oils work very well. If the pain becomes too intense to control, or a fever should develop, contact a professional health care provider immediately.
this is the kind of things that people did before they drugged themselves out of existence like we do today...

put good things in your body,, not just cannabis..

your not old because you can still live many lives..

still you guys lived through arguably the best decades of the 20th century(and probably the 21st lol),, be grateful for that maybe, since the future for the kids born around us today is looking increasingly bleaker..

You got that right, I was born in 81, so I missed the 60s, punk and the real rave era before it got clamped. What did my generation get, the spice girls and fucking backstreet boys.

I know, I know. I am happy. I keep the vibe going and try to do the same with Mrs. MPD. We have a great marriage and I am looking forward to whatever time she has left with me. With 11 grandkids already and more in the making, I think I will have a fine ol' time when I am REALLY OLD!

And yet I feel ancient..... I was flicking though the TV channels a few weeks ago and started watching something and about 5 minutes in, I realised, that this show really is not aimed at me at all....

The phrase "The police are getting younger every day", I have only just started understanding the real meaning of this, when my friend was arrested by a pig whose umbilical cord hadn't shriveled up and dropped off yet.
At least I've still got a full head of hair.....for now.
