I have never been a CAP fan. there stuff is sub par with many low grade component's. I have had one of there temp controllers melt on me. I was very lucky I was home and smelled the plastic burning. Having said that I did allot of research on there New Nano 1k Ballast. Im pleasantly surprised with this small unit. It is half the size of my 600 Lumatek. I might replace them all with this new Nano Ballast. They have 1k or 600 hps models. There is no heat to speak of when touching the unit. I really could not believe the performance I was getting from this unit. They just need to add a digital timer built into the unit. I really like this ballest. I will run it for another year before I make my final decision..So far it has outperformed all of my Lumatek ballast's..

so i went through an incredible amount of trouble to get my meter. Overall it works ok but I feel like it needs alot of calibration. I have tested the same thing multiple times with different readings. I tested the ph of the same shot glass of apple cider vinegar. rinse and test and rinse and test. diff readings each time and diff when i stir it also. but never so far of to where you wouldn't have a general idea to the 1/10 or close. So I would say its worth the $30

ill get in there. since most of the equipment is made in ding dong ding a ling china, we will have to weed pardon the pun, roll the fortune cookies, and see which ones stand the test of time. i hace caps art dne timer and worked flawlessly for 2 years now. have to say the numbers dont match the on off time exacts but it works well for 70 bux. next up,cap extreme 600s, had a short time, seemed to work well realitively quiet, but ones not firing my mh. have to say it may have something to do with the 0 degree weather since there out in an area thats freezing. ill have to bring it in and see what happens. report back on it.

What kind of performance from the nano ballast? Is it light output or less heat from the ballast?

Bought a HydroFarms 4' 8 tube T5 fixture. Store I got it at even swapped me for tubes so I have 'full spectrum' 4 warm 4 cool...

The unit has two power switches (one for the center 4 and one for the outside ones), I vegged under inside 4 until I needed the larger footprint as the plants grew. Almost finished with the 2 plants (lolly popped), and HST'd into 4sf ea... This run AK47. Next is Jilly Beans. May try to fit 3 under it this time. The AK is looking to come in at 10-16 ozs, minus the popcorn and trim of course.

Good light, and 432 watts seems to be sufficient for 8sf.

My favorite equipment lately is my CanFan Max 6. It is so quiet, uses so little power, and moves so much air. 3 speed control built right in. Tough plastic housing for the high quality motor make the fan light weight as well. Selling for very attractive prices this fan is worth a look.
